Bad points-
Hotel smells pretty bad a mix of tobacco and acetone , we were looking to run a bath/use shower and no hot water we phoned reception and were advised to just try again in an hour. Upon arrival i was also asked to put a mask on to which i advised i was medically exempt and then was advised “its government rules” which made me feel extremely uncomfortable as why should i need to explain why im exempt it should be no questions asked if a customer advises they are exempf . Floors extremely creaky .
Hotel is based on main street full of pubs/clubs so no chance of a good sleep with

Very poor, stayed for two days, central heating did not work in November, and the hot water was at best lukewarm. OK we were only using it as a base, but you can see why people choose smaller places over these clearly in need up pulling down old hotels, run on a shoestring obviously and would never go back.

Good points.....Location good to shops etc. Beds comfy.
Bad points...
Price high for an old out dated room and way to hot for comfort hence had to leave window open all night and then had affects of fumes etc.
Bedroom smells old.
Shower head poor and low pressure. Bathroom generally poor quality tiling floorings old
Would stay again if desperate.

Very basic and old decor hotel. We stayed in room 303 and it smelled of tabacco, we had to leave the windows opened despite it was cold. We informed reception staff but they couldn't figure it out why (maybe someone below was smoking by the window?). Anyway, if you can, avoid that room. Good location and breakfast.

On the upside the staff were friendly and courteous, the breakfast was good and plentiful and the room was adequate for our needs. On the downside the interior needs a good upgrade. That said I would still stay here again though.

Great city centre location with car park to the rear. Pet friendly rooms. Breakfast was good. Clean but a little worn and in need of refurbishment. No evening meals. Good value for the price.

First the plus points:
The hotel is well located in the centre of the city. Short walks to local sights. Good parking. Friendly staff.
The bad points:
The building is extremely old and in need of complete renovations.
Some of the rooms are huge and others are tiny. It is just pure luck on which sized room you'll get.
The floorboards are creaky throughout. Walking around in my room, I woke up my wife. Even the floors in the passages are creaky. In fact there were parts of the hallway on the second floor that the floorboards had holes in them and the carpets were sinking in!
There is no soundproofing
