Services
The WAM 800 is a cutting-edge instrument which carries out an examination of the front of your eye, measuring your prescription, calculating any eye strain and exploring how your vision is affected in different light conditions, for example, when driving at night. This state-of-the-art machine also measures potential risks of developing common eye diseases, such as cataracts and glaucoma, in a painless and non-invasive way.
We have invested in the latest technology to make your visit as quick and safe as possible while being really thorough. All our equipment and rooms are sanitised between each patient to keep you and us as safe as possible. Almost all our equipment allows the Optometrist to stay at least 1m from you.
Our myopia Management service is about slowing, or stopping, the increase in myopia (short sightedness) of growing children - usually with specially designed contact lenses. We have been providing myopia management for over 12 years and have a large number of successful wearers, including our own children.
Blepharitis and dry eye are become much more common after the age of 40 but with increased computer use we are seeing much younger patients with sore red eyes and crusty lids. Our Blephex treatment is designed to remove the excess bacteria; biofilm and bacterial toxins (which make your eyes itch and water) which make up the lash crusts quickly and painlessly.

Chris has dispensed all my glasses so far and I've never felt more comfortable being able to say how I feel or how something fits. Although the whole team are very professional they are extremely friendly and certainly go the extra mile to ensure I am completely satisfied. Reception staff are friendly and polite and make you feel like you're the only customer. I've used many high street opticians and yes you get cheap but you don't get the friendly family feel you do

I visited Juul and Payne recently, after some years away, and it was a fantastic experience. The staff were warm, knowledgeable and welcoming and the Covid measurements were exemplary. I felt safe and well-cared for from start to finish.
The technology that they use for the tests is amazing and unlike anything I have experienced anywhere else - it was vastly superior to the high street chains. It is always a real pleasure doing the eye test with Jan and suddenly seeing with my new prescription felt miraculous!

We have been with Juul & Payne for about 35 years and have always received first class service. We are also impressed with their after care service - my husband has frequent falls and has bent his glasses several times recently. Juul & Payne manage to restore them to their initial shape every time. We wouldn't go to any other optician.

Cannot recommend the team at Juul & Payne opticians highly enough. Fantastic team of friendly extremely well qualified staff who have worked extremely hard during Covid to offer a highly professional service whilst keeping themselves and customers safe. Equally no hard sell to buy the most expensive lenses or frames just helpful advice on which frames fit best and lenses that would be the most practical for the purpose you need them. 💯 recommend. Thank you to the entire team you are amazing and doing a fantastic job

Extremely satisfied with the service I received from the team at Juul and Payne. The eye test was very thorough and everything was explained to me in a very clear way. There’s an excellent selection of frames to choose from and I found exactly what I wanted with help from the very attentive staff.
