Very very impressed with how nice the food is, portions very big, cooked to perfection and of very high quality, and home cut chips cooked in beef dripping were delicious, not many places would cook chips like that! All of the staff very friendly and waitress put rest of my husband's mixed grill in a tub to take home as he was defeated at the portion size and was to nice to throw in the bin! Can't wait to come back to this beautiful pub with the best food, staff and atmosphere!

Me and the wife had a lovely evening meal here. Although the pub was busy, all the staff were friendly and polite. Great menu and exceptional portion size. I had fish & chips - which was amazing, the wife had the ploughman’s which could have easily served two. Good range of beers and ales at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I decided to have our Sunday lunch at the Old Inn & Restaurant after reading all of the good reviews of their carvery. This is a very busy place and booking for Sunday lunch is a must especially if eating outside is not an option due to the weather.
Well it did not disappoint.
I did worry that with many carveries the vegetables can end up soggy and tasteless and the meat can be of poor quality. All my worries were unnecessary as here at the Old Inn all of the vegetables were crisp and tasty and the meat was succulent and tender. The choice on our visit was beef, lamb, turkey, pork

Found the Old Inn & Restaurant by chance as they were the only place that could fit us in on short notice on a Saturday night after a family day out.
All of us ordered our starters and mains off the specials menu and every dish was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh (they even list where they supply all their produce from on the menus, all local!) seasoned/cooked beautifully and the portions were a bit on the large side but the food was so amazing we all wanted to clear the plate completely.
We didn't expect such a wide range of choice from what seemed like a small pub grub restaurant,

I had the fish and chips , very generous portion and good value for money. Would definitely recommend this pub.

Rang up Saturday evening to book a table for 12 at 5-6pm on Sunday, could not book all one table, so accepted 2 x 6 for 6pm. Arrived at 6pm and found a table for 12 they had somehow managed to arrange. All the staff were great on arrival and had us seated and ready to go straight away, we were informed we needed to vacate for 7.45pm. We ordered and most of us had carvery and 2 kids meals. Drinks orders done efficiently. The Carvery was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for the servers there. The 4 meat roast was HUGE and I even asked for more gammon which was duly added. All the food was

The staff were outstanding: friendly, welcoming, going out of their way to be helpful, all when they were obviously short staffed and rushed off their feet. The food was outstanding. The homemade chips are very fish and chip shop style - and portion size. The menu on the website was perhaps not the most imaginative ever, BUT they a whole wall of specials, which are a step or two up from the printed menu. Altogether a very good place, and highly recommended!
