Very disappointed. Menu choice not as good as I remembered, original choice not available (at 7pm!). So I chose (expensive) steak, as it was a Steak Night, only to receive a flavourless meal. Had a very long wait between courses. Felt sorry for waiter, who was very apologetic. Won't be rushing back.

It's been 5 years since my last visit and unlike last time I really enjoyed the food and service.
I would highly recommend the Monday Club menu. Strikingly good value; choice of starter, main and glass of house wine for about£13
All our party opted for the wonderful mussels with chilli and lemongrass for starter. My dad thought it was so tasty that after he finished the mussels he poured the sauce into a glass and drank it!
Some had pork loin in cider sauce for main and the others had burger with chips.
Lovely old building adds to the ambiance. Really warm welcoming service from the young

This is a great pub. There's plenty of parking and a garden at the rear. The staff are professional and welcoming, providing a good service. Dogs are permitted, inside the spacious bar area. Dietary requirements are catered for. The attractive restaurant is large, with a variety of tables. Four of us ate, with a bottle of wine and beers. The portions are sizeable, so we didn't have starters but finished with puddings and coffees. It was £80 per couple. We didn't feel rushed and stayed for around 3 hours. The bathroom areas are clean. Definitely a good place to visit.

My Wife and I decided to try the Sunday Roast. We arrived for our 12 noon table. We were greeted by a lovely member of staff who showed us to our table and asked us if we would like a drink. My Wife's drink wasn't a problem but when I asked for an alcohol free lager or cider, I was told that they had run out of stock. We then ordered 2 roast beefs which turned up 35 minutes later cold, along with the vegetables which were also cold. We then ordered desserts and coffee's. The coffee's turned-up 20 minutes before the desserts. We understand that the restaurant was very busy but we were the first

Had a lovely lunch here today, the staff were very friendly and helpful and social distancing was implemented well. The food was wonderful, as were the pints of London Pride. Definitely worth having a dessert, as they are fantastic, the sticky toffee pudding, recommended by one of the waitresses, was particularly delicious.

Visited for lunch today. On arrival found that there was a classic car convention. Waited to be seated after being ignored. Ordered drinks which arrived 15 mins later because they were forgotten on the bar. Reservation was for 1.30. Starters arrived at 2.30 and mains at 3pm. We were then told that if we ordered dessert it would be a further 30 mins! Overpriced (fish is chips £15.95 and ham, eggs and chips £12.95) and extremely poor, slow service. Overall very disappointing experience. Needless to say we won't be visiting again!

What an exceptional hidden gem! We sat outside in a beautiful garden area, ordered and waited long enough to know the food was cooked to order but not too long. Our food arrived and it was upper end Resteraunt quality. A great touch was a table offering FREE use of straw hats, sin cream etc for customer use; a genius addition. I have MS and had the start of a 'flare up' which, when we were at the car I ended up on the floor by the car (no, not beause of the wine!) a member of staff with no fuss, no comment came and got me into our car! Thank you oh nameless one. We feel so comfortable recommending

Another one of my locals. This is one of the nicest pubs in the Hartley Wintney area. It is tucked away behind the service station on the A30, so look out for it. I have always had excellent service, good food and drink, all in comfortable, very pleasant surroundings. It is a little out of the village, which makes it better for those of us who live at this end! Well worth a visit.

Great pub - shame it's not closer to the centre of the village. We went for dinner and a few drinks and the staff were lovely. Food is good value and good sized portions. There's a garden out the back and plenty of parking in the front providing you don't go when the local classic cars club are there! Prices are are fair for the area and there's plenty of tables inside.

Lovely looking pub in the main road as you go in to hartney witney (from hook way) huge beer garden round the back of pub and lots of benches to sit at.
Inside the pub is cosy and traditional looking, clean and tidy looking with amusing artifacts on walls and ledges.
The restaurant area is large and quite packed with tables, clean and tidy as well though.
Found it not very child friendly as no highchairs at all when we visited! modern menu and wide choice of food, quite pricey but lovely food and good portions.
staff and cheery and freindly with a willing to help attitude.

Called in here a bit by chance as we were passing by and just noticed thispub tucked away from the road. We had some bar food in the restaurant and were very impressed with the quality of the food. The service was a bit hit and miss however but the staff were young and probably new. Had three course and they were all high quality and nicely presented. The wine was reasonably priced as was the food. Would recommend.
