The Alex is a great place to pop in for a drink. The local folks are welcoming and the staff are all very nice people. The landlady is one of the most wonderful people I've ever met and can help sort anything that's needed. Beers are average priced for a proper pub. Trivia nights and poker nights are always a fun time. The rooms are fairly basic with a bed, bathroom, and a TV, but the value for money is exceptional. A breakfast basket is dropped every morning. If visiting Farnborough, I definitely recommend a visit.

Not been in this pub since leaving the Army over 20 years ago. Not much changed on the outside, can't comment on the inside due to Covid. We sat in the beer garden and ordered our drinks via the app and they were promptly delivered to our table by a cheerful member of staff. They have obviously invested in some outdoor gazebos and are not bad at all. There is even a TV in the large one. We only popped in whilst travelling through Farnborough, so not my local and I can't comment on what it is like in the evenings or when it is busy. But it was fine on a Saturday at about 3pm. There was one guy sitting

It's an alright pub, it's not upper class or fancy, it's quite popular with local people, there's bar games, ie. Pool table, music & dancing later on a weekend, verander with seating & outside space with car parking at back, they hold a Charity music & barbeque family day out there every August Bank Holiday weekend & they have 3 B&B rooms they let upstairs where I've stayed & is perfectly adequate & accomodating to stay over for business or any other reason as long as you're not expecting 5 * or anything special, I wouldn't complain & was happy with it other than they could do a better job with

From the outside, this pub gives off the appearance that it is a 'local' that isn't going to be welcoming of strangers. However once inside, you find the interior to be contemporary and welcoming, with the bar staff friendly enough to serve without any hassle.
The inside is set up, so that one area is for groups and music, while the other centres on a large TV showing live sports. Overall, it's a good place to go for anyone hoping to find a more authentic experience than the similarly priced Tilly Shilling further along the street. My only frustration would be the lack of any obvious bar tariff
