Set in the Surrey Hills, our traditional establishment is reputedly the most photographed pub in the UK. Overlooking the picturesque Tilford Green, we boast a large riverside garden and cosy heated outdoor snug. A wonderful destination pub - for cyclists, motor clubs and ramblers alike - we are also family and dog friendly.
We look forward to welcoming you soon! We have the traditional pub for drinkers and diners, of course, but also a large heated marquee for dining and an outdoor heated area in front of The Coach House, for drinks, snacks and coffees. Our newly refurbished Coach House Bar & Dining is ideal for small parties and family get-togethers!

Services
We're thrilled to be the winner of Best Surrey Pub in Surrey Life magazine's Food & Drink Awards 2018. Voted for by the people of Surrey it recognises not only our stunning location but the excellent food, drink and warm welcome to be found here. The Barley Mow has changed very little through the ages.
We have four Cask beers, currently Doom Bar, HopHead, Wainwrights and the local Hog's Back Bitter. A couple of these will change with the seasons. Fosters, Kronenbourg and Birra Morretti are the present lagers with a draught Stowford Press cider and Guinness. A wide range of Whiskies and the very fashionable Gins including the local Silent Pool that teams up nicely with one of the Fever Tree Tonics.
The Barley Mow has changed very little through the ages. Real Ales are kept in the cellar and are still served by hand pump. Today, the pub continues to provide hospitality for locals and visitors alike, and the many photographs and artifacts on its walls give testimony to its long and interesting history.

The pub was two staff members down today. The service was as friendly and obliging as ever but obviously strained. We waited 35 minutes for drink and our food came cold.
(Was then microwaved on complaint)
Normally the experience here is a good deal better but YMMV.
Vegan desserts are available! My chocolate cake was intensely sweet and not that chocolatey. Still good though.
Neither of the house wines I tried were particularly great.
I recommend booking the main pub which is full of warmth and character, and not being sat in their new building which is stuffy, echoing and a bit clinical.

Excellent food. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience until we received the bill due to being charged for a coffee that had not been ordered or received. Another reason was because a 10% service charge had been added to the bill without any notice, both verbally and on the menu. The member of staff advised it was their policy do this. This is totally unacceptable. A tip was given in cash.

The archetypal English country pub. With a cricket green to the front and the river running beside the rear garden. I had an excellent pint of Surrey Hills Ranmoor Ale and tasty bar snacks in my latest visit there. If you want to see an English pub in a beautiful setting, this is the place to go. You can't beat it!
