Chess Valley Equine
Chess Valley Equine was established in 2010 and has recently expanded to become a three vet practice. Although the practice continues to grow, in terms of the services we offer, the team will stay compact, in order that we continue to provide a friendly, personal service to all of our clients. We know every horse we care for by name, and we plan to keep it that way!

Our regular clients include both professional and leisure riders, studs, livery and competition yards, and riding schools. We are well equipped with high-quality mobile digital diagnostic equipment, and keep ourselves up to date with the latest advances in equine veterinary medicine.
Services
Chess Valley Equine is a dedicated team of equine vets, who provide exceptional standards of equine veterinary care to patients in Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Practice owner Olwen Lloyd started the practice in 2009, and is supported by vet Chloe Casalis De Pury and practice manager Katie Daines, who also dons a nurses hat to assist with clinical procedures where required.
In addition to round-the-clock routine and emergency care services, we are always at the end of the phone to provide our clients with the most valuable veterinary service of all - our wealth of experience. No problem is too large or too small, and we will always make time to discuss any concerns you may have about your horses health, management and welfare.
In addition to the most valuable tool in our toolbox (our knowledge and experience), we have a range of advanced mobile diagnostic equipment, which enables us to carry out X-ray, Ultrasound and Endoscopy. Once we have obtained a definitive diagnosis of the problem, we have a variety of therapies that can be used to manage and treat orthopaedic issues.
There are many other conditions that can affect your horses performance and general well being. We provide a comprehensive selection of diagnostics and treatments for diseases and disorders of the respiratory, gastro-intestinal and other bodily systems, which could include respiratory disease, skin conditions, allergy-related problems, and metabolic disorders.
Olwen set up Chess Valley Equine in 2010. After graduating from Cambridge Vet School, she spent several years working for equine practices in the South East, including the renowned Nixon Equine Vets in North Buckinghamshire. In addition to her general equine veterinary work, Olwen has a particular interest in poor performance, chiropractic treatment, and integrated veterinary care.
