Hope Vets
Welcome to Hope Vets, the result of our hopes and dreams both for ourselves and for what we feel veterinary practice should be to you and for your pets. Welcome Tracy! - We're pleased to welcome Tracy to the team. As one of our nursing assistants you will encounter her either on reception or helping the vets and.

Getting a new puppy during lockdown - What a fantastic opportunity! While everyone is at home it - is a wonderful time to introduce a new puppy whilst you have plenty of time to - bond. Hasta la Vista! - Sacha is a well known face around the practice, with her distinct rainbow (or pink or blue) hair and her love for giant breed dogs.
Services
Steph's our big chief. Hope Vets was originally just a twinkle in her eye and now with a lot of joy and hard slog it's a reality. Steph is now curating a small zoo - 2 ponies, 3 rats, 2 cats and 3 dogs and a small but rapidly growing child! Poppy came over from New Zealand years ago and luckily for us decided to stick around.
Since we opened our fabulous purpose built clinic in 2008 it seems like lots has happened. Let me think, we achieved accreditation on the RCVS practice standards scheme, we trained up a team who are dedicated to providing you and your pets with the care they deserve - and that was in spite of Steph crowding the place with more and more pets and then even a human baby!
In the event of an emergency: Animals being animals, they don't always run to schedule so in the case of an emergency there is always help and advice available 24 hours a day. Just call 01442 833 198 and a recorded message will give you a number to phone which goes directly to the vet on call. If you are concerned your animal has ingested something poisonous, or just aren't sure, you can call us or Vets Now.
Within 6 months of opening we became an approved member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standards Scheme. To be an accredited practice, we have to pass inspections carried out by an experienced veterinary surgeon focusing on a range of areas, including hygiene, health and safety, clinical governance and the facilities we provide, to name just a few of the many criteria.
We are very happy to offer estimates on request, but to give you a general idea of our prices. Puppy L2 vaccination course 72 (this includes 2 vaccines spaced 2 weeks apart, a dose of worm/flea treatment, health check with the vet and an additional nurse consult to give you general puppy advice and a puppy pack of goodies).

My cat had dental treatment here a while ago and they were excellent and so kind. I recently needed a prescription for my cat and this was dealt with efficiently and quickly. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Really took care of my dog recently who had an operation. Went here because dog owners here recommended it. You can tell they love animals and treat them very well. My dog has healed from surgery well and is back to normal. Wouldn't go anywhere else

Excellent Vets !!!! Also prices are very reasonable, and are advertised on their website, unlike other vets that shock, with their costs !!! All staff are very caring. Only been with them for a very short time as was with Clarke and Marshall Berkhamsted for over 30 years , but was forced to leave as Richard Clarke retired, and Village Vets took over , which was a truly uncaring, knowledge lacking, expensive replacement. We came to Hope Vets and our vet Poppy, is wonderful. Poppy made my elderly mums JRT dog very welcome and at ease. Her care and compassion does not stop there, and we are in regular

The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly, warm and welcoming. My dog had her first proper vet consultation and health check with Sarah, and went from a shivering, scared puppy to a relaxed, happy girl sleeping on the floor during our unhurried time in the exam room! My husband took her outside briefly afterwards while I was sorting out the (very reasonable) bill and she came back in again quite happily wagging her tail and greeting the staff. If she's happy, I am! So far, so good... 😍
