The Wheelhouse Veterinary Centre is owned by Independent Vetcare and proudly lead by our Clinical Directors Charles Winslade, Kevin Spencelayh and James Warwick'. We have had the privilege of caring for animals in the local community for over 50 years. All of our team members share our Clinical Directors' passion to provide our clients and their pets with the best care and service possible.
We are all animal lovers and pet owners and take great pride in treating your pets as if they were our own. We are able to offer your pet(s) a wide range of services at our surgeries, performed by our dedicated team members in a caring and friendly environment. You will only ever have a consultation with fully qualified vet, or nurses using the most suitable equipment and medicines available.

Services
We have facilities to carry out a wide range of diagnostic tests, from routine skin microscopy to detailed blood analysis. This allows us to obtain rapid results (usually within 2 hours) thereby enabling us to treat your pet more promptly. Most surgical cases and investigations are treated as 'day patients' so that they can return home the same evening.
Our out-of-hours emergency care providers, Vets Now, have temporarily closed their clinic in High Wycombe due to staffing challenges. Pet owners who would normally use this facility in an out-of-hours emergency will instead be diverted to Vets Now in Hemel Hempstead, Reading or Harrow, depending on which is nearest.
Check out the Wheelhouse Healthcare Plan to see how you can save money on preventative care and routine procedures! The Wheelhouse is able to offer comprehensive and diagnostic services for your pets. Many of our pet's problems are best managed if caught early, so if you have any concerns, please contact us, we can then help by advising whether we would recommend an appointment with a vet or a nurse.
We hope you find it useful but if you are not sure about anything then please call our friendly team at The Wheelhouse and we will be happy to help. All requests will be considered. All boarding establishments including home boarding have to be registered and licensed by their local council authority.
Laser therapy involves the process of directing infra-red radiation into inflamed or damaged tissues, to accelerate the body's natural ability to heal. The laser is placed in direct contact with the skin, enabling light photons to penetrate tissue leading to several biochemical effects within cells.

Having moved house and county, the vet saw both of my pets (Cat and Dog) simultaneously. They had accessed their records from previous vets so had a full background of their medical history which enabled them to diagnose and prescribe accurately. Both pets had their chips scanned and information for numbers and details of registration company so we could update. Highly professional but with a family feel about this branch in Amersham. Top of the list when it comes to my experience with vets.
