Attention: Contact Us - If you have any concerns or questions during these uncertain times, please do not hesitate to contact us on: enquiries@gilberdykeprimary.co.uk. Situated at the heart of a strong community, our school brings families together from Gilberdyke and surrounding villages, placing children at the centre of everything we do.
Our aim is simple; to enable every child to thrive and shine. Strong relationships are fundamental to this. Our restorative approach underpins the pastoral support we offer and supports children in learning how to work effectively alongside one another.

In developing a school which reflects the beliefs and values of the local community as well as the ever-growing global community of our future, everybody involved with the school, not least the pupils, have a voice which they are actively encouraged to share. Strong and effective relationships and communication remain central to the success of our school.
Restorative Practice enables the building, maintaining and repairing of relationships. The philosophy embodies a set of values and principles and a way of working with people that provides a common language and approach and enables the practice to be taught. What are the key principles? Restorative Practice is underpinned by values of empathy, respect, honesty, acceptance, responsibility, and mutual accountability.
At Gilberdyke Primary School we believe PE & Sport plays an important role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people's lives for the better. We are committed to using this resource in developing high quality PE lessons, alongside greater opportunities for sporting competitions and clubs for all our young people.
The person who has overall responsibility for safeguarding at Gilberdyke Primary School is Miss Joanna Beeston. If your concern is less urgent but you are worried about the welfare of the child then contact the Early Help and Safeguarding Hub (EHaSH) on 01482 395500 (Mondays-Thursdays 9am-5pm, Fridays 9am-4:30pm).
At Gilberdyke Primary the school council are an important piece of the ever evolving jigsaw that is school development. They form the pupil voice for the school community. Two children from each class are elected by their peers to become their class councillors because they are role models for all other children, are considerate towards others and follow our school expectations to the highest standard.
