Beauchief Golf Club, founded in 1925, functions independently of the owners of the course, Sheffield City Council, but works closely with them and with any course manager appointed by them. This is currently Sheffield City Trust. The Club has a philosophy of giving help and assistance to all golfers and, in particular, has large seniors and ladies sections.

Members of Beauchief Golf Club can access additional Member Only information by logging into the site (Log In - top right). Members must first Register to set up their Log In details. Tick the appropriate boxes and if all the details you have used are valid with our membership record, the system will send you an activation email.
Services
The Course is managed, under contract from the City Council, by Sheffield City Trust (SCT). They also manage the golf courses at Birley Wood, Tapton Park, Tinsley Park and Sinfin (Derby). There is an online Tee Booking system that will require you to register before you can use it. Green fees are charged by the round but you can also buy an annual season ticket.
Beauchief is a meadowland course situated in the south west of Sheffield. There are views to the hills of the Peak District and Beauchief Abbey provides a major feature within the site. A number of holes cross a stream which drains through the course and one par 3 (for Men) crosses a pond. There are trees both around and within the course.
Since 2019, the R&A have encouraged "Ready Golf" in an attempt to speed up the pace of play. Beauchief Golf Club does not have a pace of play policy (as it is impossible for us to police it) but, if you are playing STROKEPLAY, we would encourage you to play to the "Ready Golf" philosophy. NOTE: This does NOT apply in MATCHPLAY.
The Golf Professional at Beauchief is Wayne Yellott. Together with a team of experienced golfers, he manages both Beauchief and Tinsley Park courses. He provides golf tuition and advice by arrangement. He maintains a stock of golfing items and can arrange fitting sessions. He can be contacted at the Pro Shop (0114 236 7274) or at Tinsley Park.
Golf began at Beauchief in 1897 when Abbeydale Golf Club constructed a nine hole course. The photo of that event is described as Abbeydale 8th Green - it could perhaps be the current 5th green (that's not the clubhouse in the background - it hadn't been built then). In the photo are a number of the then top British golfers: H Varden, J Braid, H E Dean and W Furguson.

Very slow round the group in front had no idea. Their round must have taken about 6 hours and we had to ask to play through. Nice course for a public course with some tricky holes.

A challenging golf course with some tricky holes. The 11th hole par 3 over a pond to an elevated green is a stand out hole. It's may only be a short course but it It's a test for any golfer.

Always enjoy playing here, great staff, friendly and knowledgeable. For a council run course, Beauchief is always in lovely condition and despite it's short distance, offers plenty of challenge for golfers.

Course conditions are best I have seen anywhere for a long long time. Greens are very challenging, fast, firm and so true. Staff was nice and very helpful. Really looking forward to my next round there.
