Situated on the Sheffield / Derbyshire border, Renishaw Park is a gem of a golf course in magnificent mature parkland around Renishaw Hall. A tale of two 9 holes so to speak, a slightly testing up and down top 9, then an open long back 9. Renishaw Park is well known for the quality of its greens which are fast and true.
The course was built in 1911 by Sir George Sitwell and retains many of the original features and specimen trees from its early days. A mixture of interesting Par 3 holes, tight Par 4's and longer but more forgiving Par 5's to give any standard of golfer a challenging round. All of this centres around immaculate greens which are widely regarded as being amongst the best in the area.

This course was in such a bad condition today. I’ve never played a course where all 18 greens were on temps. In fact I wouldn’t even call them temps more a random hole cut in some grass, nowhere near the original green. The temp tees were also poor, covered in gravel and mud and nowhere near the original tees some temp tees turned par 4’s into par 3’s which is just ridiculous. There was a £5 discount applied for temp greens but £15 was still probably £10 more than they should be charging. And as for the 12th a embarrassing 100yard par 3, which should have been a par 4, you would have

By far the worst course I have ever played.every green was on a temp accept the famous 15a with scenery of Eckington storage at the side a challenging 80 yard par 3.winter tees are in the most ridiculous places, absolute joke.if the guy in the club shop would have informed us there was 18 temps (apart from the scenic 15a) we wouldn't have bothered, the club shop looks like it was burgled overnight.AVOID IT.green keepers setting fires next to holes and the temps are absolute dogga.

This review has been amended following a more promising response to my son's junior membership that we have submitted.
Intially, it was taking weeks from submitting the membership form to having any contact. Andy (club secretary) has now been in contact and my son played there on Saturday.
The staff were all very friendly and the course was very interesting and challenging (for the front 9 he played).
Hopefully his membership can now be sorted out soon now, and will get the chance to play here more often.
I hope then that in the near future I will be amending this review further, once we have

We've played here a handful of times, and it's always been good value for the ~£25 ish. Today we played and they stung each of our 4 ball for £40. Not the fault of the clubshop staff, but that steep rise isn't justified at all. There are far better courses for £40, and equally as good courses for much less. Won't be going back.
To reply to the comment, this round was beyond 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. £40 is too steep.

Played today with Martyn, Bob and Gary Webster and must say the course is looking fantastic and the all the work being done ( Paul tining the greens , other Paul hand cutting markers on fairways and Clinton mowing surrounds) the staff are a credit to the club
Well done to Nathan and the greens staff

Went to get a pair of golf shoes. Not a member and wanted a supposedly quite scarce size 11, wide fitting. Was sorted straightaway in their pro shop. Fantastic. Assistant pro very friendly indeed. Used to be a member there years ago and loved it. Every minute. Uni, marriage, job and kids then intervened. But, after seeing the new remodelled clubhouse and beautiful course I may just rejoin. Try to regain lost youth!! Some chance.
