Services
1990 Bradford Counselling Services started life as Off the Record to meet the need for confidential counselling services for young people in Bradford. Services were delivered at the Community Centre in Shipley and the Wool Exchange throughout the 90's. Off the Record was funded by the Tudor Trust and Rank Foundation and counselling was provided through volunteers.
Bradford Counselling Services offers free confidential counselling to residents within the Bradford District. We deliver counselling through qualified and trainee counsellors for a range of issues. Counselling is delivered through a 12 session model intended to help you explore and deal with your emotional issues.
In exceptional circumstances we may offer extra sessions. This will be discussed with you at your 10th session of counselling, should your counsellor feel you need more sessions. People access counselling for many issues some of which include, relationship issues (individually), bereavement, historic abuse, depression, anxiety, stress, work related issues, health related issues.
Bradford Counselling Services is just one of many local counselling and mental health agencies working across Bradford. The First Response service offers support 24 hours a day, seven days a week to people of all ages living in Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale or Craven experiencing a mental health crisis.
Our Fast Track Service offers counselling to people who are able to pay for their counselling sessions. It provides an opportunity for individuals to access counsellors who are managed and supervised within a trusted organisation. It also gives an opportunity to give something back to the organisation and helps us make counselling more accessible to people who can't afford to pay.
