Run a mile if you don’t want to sleep in a dog basket
Hi,
I contacted the stone troth following my stay on Saturday 15th January. I took the family room for £100 due to a mistake on booking . Com. I had booked a single room and shown my reservation but it was not showing on your system. It was 6pm and too late to book anywhere else as I had a function to attend. I cancelled my single room booking and paid the £100 for the family room as it’s the only room they had left.
However I was extremely disappointed as the room smelt of dogs. When I got a shower in the morning the smell was overwhelming

Staff were very accommodating and gruendly,
even with our two dogs.....at least they hoovered up young people's left overs. Owner could not do enough for us. Brilliant food, great choice even for veggies. I had the the brie and mushroom wellington, even though not a veggie and it was delicious. We are going back in a few days for a break from our travels. See you soon

Had to change rooms as bath water was tepid and shower didn't work at all.Moved to nicer room but radiators were red hot and couldn't be turned down or off so had to blast 3 windows open for air.1 did eventually go off late at night which helped when sleeping but red hot again in the morning. Breakfast was OK but dogs in dining room. Staff very nice though.

Room was clean but very tired especially the bathroom. We were in the annex part away from the main road which was good, however you could hear the other guests through the walls and the external door being repeatedly closed late night/early morning as guests were in and out with their dogs.
Very limited choice in the restaurant for vegetarians and same at breakfast, no cereals or fruit just cooked breakfasts so choice limited.
Staff all very helpful but seemed very rushed when serving in the restaurant in the evening, lots of dogs in there too.
Overall I would say it was good value for money
