Food is great, rooms are wonderful surroundings are perfect, everything seemed just as one would expect from a country estate “hotel & Spa” except when you discover that the spa is in fact a separate entity. I have stayed in hotel & Spa’s around the world including in some of the famous five star locations such as St Davids Hotel & Spa or The Celtic Manner etc and never heard of the concept of hotel guests being charged and additional fee for use of the facilities. I was absolutely gobsmacked; I am not talking about the usual extra charge for a massage or treatment, no! These people charge

Good overall. My wife had a lovely spa and I really enjoyed the off road experience. Re, bar menu, this is very limited, for example, if you want a simple sandwich, they cannot will not serve this which in most four star establishments you would expect especially when the only alternative is afternoon tea with tiny finger sandwiches- be a bit more flexible with the offerings during the day. In addition, this Hotel relies heavily on wedding parties meaning the already quite small bar area seems to get full of wedding guests making it difficult for ordinary Hotel residents to get service / seating

We stayed for a week for our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time. All the staff were very friendly. The location is stunning. Plenty of car parking close to the hotel. Food was excellent and quick to be prepared. Just knocking off one star as the room wasn't that clean and we had some maintenance issues with the bathroom.

The hotel is really nice, our room was very good but some rooms are small. Some rooms have terraces good for smokers to go outside others not.
Breakfast was good, service can be hit or miss, ours was great, others waited and waited as they were forgot. Had to ask staff for their breakfast again.
Reception was good, overall very good.
Parking plentiful on gravel parking area.
Hotel has pet friendly rooms.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night stay here, the location of the hotel is situated in 1400 acres of land and the landscape is stunning.
It ticks all the boxes from wanting a relaxing break to trying some country sports.
A place I can highly recommend and I will definitely be returning, my next trip here is already booked.

This is a large (and busy) modern hotel and country estate, catering for weddings, business conferences, off-road driving together with a spa and country sport facilities. All its facilities are first rate, so it is not cheap. Covid restrictions have affected it, so menus are shorter than in the past. But the wine list remains good, and service is quick and unobtrusive. The restaurants are very popular, so booking is recommended
