River House is located in the beautiful village of Malham, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, 10 miles from the market town of Skipton and 6 miles from Settle. Walking and cycling routes including the National Pennine Way, run through the village and past the front door. There is no better place to base yourself when exploring the stunning Yorkshire Dales.
River House has been a Hotel / Bed and Breakfast since the 1950's, with parts of the house originally built in 1664. Today we offer 8 en-suite individually decorated bedrooms, with lovely homely touches. Choose each morning from the breakfast table - Fruit compote, yoghurts, fresh juices, cereals & sliced fresh fruit, followed by the Yorkshire Dales Aga cooked breakfast, or kippers, and omelettes for a lighter option.

Services
Alex and I have over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. After we first met at catering college in Scarborough, we then went on to work in Chester, and returned to Yorkshire in 1997 to work in the city of York. Airedale House, Sparth House, all names that River House have been over the year, it's been welcoming guest to stay since the 1950s.
When wanting a early breakfast we can do a continental for guests, that is put in your room the night before. We love to use local produce in our menus, using fresh eggs from our own chickens and when our girls can't cope with the demand some are from the farm down the road. Fresh Fruit, local Plain & Fruit Yogurts, choice of Cereals, Fruit Compote, Fresh Melon, & Fruit Juices.
The local area of Malham is a perfect setting for a break in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, both for the keen rambler or those wanting something less strenuous. Within a mile of the village there is Malham Cove a 250ft limestone cliff topped by a unique limestone pavement.
A short stroll from River House you will find Gordale Scar a deep rift in the landscape once painted by "Turner", and Janet's Foss, a enchanting waterfall where local legends abound.River House is centrally located in Malham Village, amidst the stunning dales scenery. With the Pennine Way and other Yorkshire Dales walking and cycling routes running just past the front door, we are an ideal location.

Lovely friendly hosts, nice breakfast with plenty of choice including local marmalades and honey. Clean and comfortable with lots of extra added thoughtful touches, such as homemade bakes in your room and suncream at the door, not to mention the honesty bar! Great location for walkers and the pub next door also recommended for an evening meal. Would recommend and would return.

Thank you Ann and Alex for making our two night stay perfect.
After the "big stay in" it was so nice to get away, we are so glad we chose this B&B.
Clean and comfortable, a friendly welcome and amazing breakfasts!
This place is perfect as the start of one of our walk starts opposite the B&B.
We would recommend this place as a perfect stop, oh and theres a pub next door that sells good food.

This was our second visit this year and the stay was excellent again. Room was clean and tidy and very comfortable. Breakfast was also excellent again and plenty to choose from. Lots of great walks right on the doorstep so no need to drive anywhere. Great pub right next door. I would highly recommend a stay here if visiting Malham and the surrounding area.
