We are not a big pub company, just a family of pubs, owned by a family and run as they should be, serving a wide selection of well kept real ales, quality wines and excellent home cooked food. We think a pub should look and feel like a pub, each one is traditionally furnished and creates the perfect atmosphere for you to relax & enjoy yourself what ever the occasion!
The Hare and Hounds is a delightful 200 year old coaching in set in the quiet village of Sway in the heart of the New Forest. The Smugglers is set in the pretty village of Milford on Sea with a good selection of local shops and within walking distance of the beach with its views to the Isle of Wight beyond.

Booked a table and meals, arrived on time to be told that the table we booked was not available. Accepted an alternative table, when asked for drinks I ordered an IPA, only to be told none available. Tried to order a Moretti only to be told that too was not available, so had to settle for an Amstel. Meal good, as always and very tasty but overall experience not great.

Vegans rejoice! Where most pubs offer at best a chickpea curry, this pub has three delicious vegan options for mains. We both went for the vegan-feta homemade pie, which came with chips, peas and delicious gravy. The pie was so tasty! And the gravy was lovely, I dipped every single chip in it. Top marks. Two very happy well fed vegans!

Had the roast dinner which was amazing. Not an ideal seat position however by the toilet door a bit cramped with people keep coming past. Was also a problem with the back door being left opened by kids playing which annoyed a lot of customers and nearly turned into a brawl with a couple of customer at one point. Considering it was cold and late and seemed to be ignored by staff was not ideal. Would go back again but was a bit ruined by above.

This is a lovely place to wine and dine, kid friendly and dog friendly, lovely country pub is very busy in the evening, so it would be wise to book ahead in advance. Nice food to, yes would recommend the Hare & Hounds. Lovely outdoor dining area,to the side of the building all lit with lovely lights in the evening, a smoking area to the right hand side of the entrance too, kids menu too and dog beds and covers are offered to your pooches too to use.

Great selection on the menu, including veggie and vegan options. Service is good and the food was delicious.
They were very busy today and had run out of some beverages and menu choices by this evening, however, there was still plenty of other options to choose from.
They have a quiz night every Sunday at 20.30hrs.
Child and dog friendly and there is a decent sized garden at the rear with a play area for children.

Really cute pub which is very dog friendly. There is a spacious carpark next door so it's easy to access. There are many tempting options on the menu, but going on a Sunday I was tempted by the three meat roast, which includes turkey, beef and pork. You get an enormous Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, plenty of fresh vegetables as well as roast potatoes cooked to absolute perfection. Only warning it is a lot of food, but when it's that good, you just need to find room for it! Sadly due to how full I was, there was no space for dessert

Been to this lovely pub many times and always had have fantastic food and service.
Went there tonight to celebrate a family birthday, having booked a table, we were unable to park at all in the carpark, so ended up phoning pub and cancelled the table and went elsewhere. If parking bays were put in it would stop people taking up two spaces.

Parking is a nightmare if the car park was marked out it would stop people taking up 2 bays. Service was ok but please encourage your waiting staff to take away used glasses etc. The number of times a member of staff came into the restaurant area and walked away empty handed
Food was good with a nice menu mix.
Gents toilets are a disgrace well done for maintaining social distancing in them. BUT the radiator is completely rusted.
Seats were dirty and stained in the restaurant
