High Ham is a rural primary school in South Somerset with 162 pupils. We have a wide range of facilities including a large hall, a community group room and an on-site pre-school which is run by a third party. We run childcare from 7.30am until 5pm as well as offer a range of after school clubs. Admissions for reception pupils are organised by Somerset County Council and 'in year' admissions are dealt with by the school.

Services
I am extremely proud of our school. The children at High Ham are kind, polite and can be relied upon to always try their best. The staff, parents and governors are tremendously supportive and everyone works really well together as a team. We have six classes with a dedicated team of enthusiastic teachers and support staff.
The school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners. High Ham Church of England Primary School is an inclusive, warm and welcoming Christian community. An ethos statement and set of core values, rooted in Christian teaching with God's love at its heart are integral to the whole life of the school.
This is an area that permeates all aspects of school life. It is also an area that when Ofsted visit, they will report on under the category of 'Overall School Effectiveness'. We have put this web page together to illustrate the ways in which SMSC is taught at High Ham. Have a look at some photos. This list has been compiled by a group of governors who have a responsibility to ensure that this area of the curriculum is covered.
The Governing Body represents the public interest of the school. Individual governors are appointed or elected by various groups, each group bringing a different viewpoint. All Governors are actively involved in the work of the Governing Body and accept a fair share of responsibilities, including service on committees and in attendance at training sessions.
Our school is amongst breathtaking countryside which gives us all the more reason to be a green school. Our Eco Council are a very enthusiastic group of KS2 students with wonderful views and ideas on how to make our school as ecological as possible. Along with being ecological we also endeavour to protect the wildlife, we have a small pond at the bottom of our playing field to encourage wildlife.
