Ilchester Community Primary School
Whether you are a regular visitor to this site or a newcomer, I hope that you will find it both informative and a good place to celebrate and share our achievements. At Ilchester Community Primary school we believe in working as a team, alongside parents, to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children in our care.

We aim to create a positive atmosphere in which all children can achieve their potential. As a team, we are committed to providing your children with an excellent all round experience, helping them to develop not only in skills and knowledge but also as thoughtful, responsible members of the community.
Services
Your adults are Emily, Georgie, Cree, Charlotte, Hiroko, Ros and Hayley. Sometimes you will also see other school staff including Mr Heath (Headteacher), Mrs Mordue (Deputy Headteacher) Mrs King (Early Years Leader) and Mrs Jones (Inclusion Leader). Newsletters are sent weekly on a Friday via Parentmail and outline all the things that the children have been up to as well as the fun things they have in store for the following week.
As with any educational setting we have a duty of care to safeguard our children. In order to keep the children safe all staff and volunteers are DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service) checked, mobile phones or camera devices are kept in the office and appropriate ratios are adhered to.

We promote open and transparent relationships with our parents and where necessary we can offer support and referral to appropriate agencies if you are experiencing difficulties. The setting has procedures in place for managing disclosures, complaints and allegations which are all outlined within our policies.
Ilchester Community Primary School follows procedures agreed with Somerset County Council. Parents are advised to contact their preferred school/s direct in order to apply for a place. Parents may need to provide proof of address if the application is a result of a house move. If the school has a place available within the Admission Number for the year group, the Headteacher will send out an offer letter to the parent.
At Ilchester we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all our students. This list is not exhaustive (teachers, and children, are always keen to respond to local and world events in their learning) but does provide a framework for teaching and learning at Ilchester. Phonics is the correspondence between spoken sound (phoneme) and the written letter (grapheme).
Our Governing Body meet twice a term to discuss school management issues. The primary purpose of the Governors is to monitor the performance of the school, to ensure best practice is followed in all areas. We work in partnership with the school, striving to provide the best possible education for the children.

Actually brilliant! Can't believe there's a better school in Europe, beat that Eton. Me and my brother both went here, and loved it. Thanks for all you did for me. CP
