Tucked away in the leafy village of Coton just outside Cambridge, you'll find our iconic gastropub, The Plough, owned by Pasquale, known to the locals as Pascky, and his family.
Services
Cousins, Pasquale & Pasquale Benedetto took over The Plough in 2015, and after a substantial refurbishment are proud to welcome you to their award-winning pub. Not amazing for vegans but I’m thankful for the options they did have. And they make the effort on their menu to indicate the different dietary options.
The service was really good and welcoming, especially the young blonde waitress, really accommodating and made us feel comfortable.
The interior is really nice, lovely fire place!!!!

Lovely place to eat. Went lunchtime new years eve with two other families. The food and service were perfect. The pub dealt with our table of 13 with the right combination of ease, professionalism and friendliness

One of the best Sunday Roasts around Cambridge.
Food is as tasty as well presented. There's also a rather cosy and distinguished atmosphere.
Service and overall quality above the average pub.

Great food in a nice country setting, just a few minutes drive out of Cambridge city centre. Large car park. Lovely setting and ambiance. We had the beefburger and the veggie burger, both nice and reasonably priced. Quite during the afternoon, so quick service.

Great hosts and staff, they did a fantastic job and the food was good (although the crème brûlée was rather liquid). Still a definite 5 star rating overall though.

What a delightful pub, an interesting menu with lovely specials available. The staff are great, friendly and professional, making our lunch very enjoyable. Good outdoor seating space with heaters and blankets for those of us that were wanting to enjoy eating al fresco before winter fully sets in! Definitely recommend for an upscale pub dining experience.

Attended the Plough for Sunday roast last week and have to say was disappointed. There was no space inside, despite us reserving a table, but that was fine as the external seating area was delightful. So far so good. However, the staff were friendly but not particularly attentive, as they failed to get our water out to us and took ages for our plates to be cleared. We all ordered Sunday roasts which was brought out after no less than 10 minutes, which was a pain as I wanted to enjoy the scenery and my beer a little while longer. I was also saddened that a gastropub has no local beer on tap. The

A wonderful, horse-friendly pub with gorgeous food. My friend and I were on a long-distance horseride and phoned to ask about lunch. The friendly staff said there was a meadow at the back where we could hand-graze our horses. It's a lovely meadow (and there's lots of outdoor beer garden space with tables for humans without horses too!). We had gorgeous hand-crafted pizza - thin crispy crust with fig and balsamic vinegar. Mmm. My horse wanted me to share it with him. We'll be back again soon, on pushbikes with our husbands and no horses, for another lovely lunch.

These guys take a lot of pride in what they do and to make it a pleasant experience. Food was amazing. Management clearly work hard and want everyone to enjoy the meal. All the staff were friendly and the menu is a nice balance between the fancy meals and the simple stuff done well. Reading some of the negative reviews about the small portions is unfair, more money doesn’t mean more food, that’s like saying why buy a Ferrari when I can buy a van for 10% of the price and you get so much more space, you’re paying for quality, ingredients and atmosphere. Thank god I don’t own a restaurant

Wonderful gastropub in the small village of Coton not far from the centre of Cambridge. Lovely walking trail close by to the town centre.
A few tables in the bar area and a large restaurant. Lovely friendly staff. Food was delicious. I ordered the Cider cured trout filler with samphire, new potatoes, spinach and beurre blanc - outstanding. Fish cooked perfectly and the samphire added just the right amount of saltiness. For dessert, chocolate tart with homemade orange sorbet and jelly sours. Love the orange and chocolate combination, tasted just like a Terry's Chocolate Orange

I had a good dinner here. The service is very friendly and fast. The food was good. I wish they had a few more vegetarian options (especially on their dinner menu). But the onion dish I had was quite unusual and very good. Portion sizes are on the small size, but nothing to complain too much about.

WOW - We stayed over at Madingley Hall round the corner and were looking for somewhere to eat.. Opportunistically we checked Yelp, found this establishment and were certainly not disappointed..

It seems not to be a pub anymore but a full-time resturant, we came in after the first lunch rush and they graciously squeezed us in with a small refreshment break at the bar as a warm up. There were four of us of which 3 had the beef roast and I had a lamb shoulder... Once the food was served the usual noisy banter dissipated to what was perhaps akin to a holy communion, yes, the food was that good you

Stumbled onto this place whilst travelling on business, for lunch.

I'm all about Asian flavours at the moment - having recently been to Vietnam and Cambodia which barely gets mentioned by me ALL THE TIME... albeit this was more Chinese than South East Asian, as I had a crispy duck salad, asian slaw, peanuts and spiced plum.

Delicious flavours and textures - perfectly cooked duck with just enough hoisin so not to be overpowering. Fresh crisp slaw, the plum added a lovely bit of sweetness and the peanut some excellent crunch.

The place itself is lovely - clean decor, modern looking and a

The Plough is the closest place to head to for a meal if you are staying at The Rectory Farm like us. It's 3 minutes away by car. But a brisk 20 minute walk if you have come to Cambridge on the train.

We were expecting a country pub, but The Plough is more restaurant than pub in its feel. A large house divided into multiple dining rooms with a long bar in the centre of it all.

The menu had seasonal items and there were a few specials on the chalk board.

The temperature had just turned sub zero, so I wanted a latte after that 20 minute walk and the husband opted for the tomato soup. Both

Food was ok nothing spectacular. However the service was rubbish. The waitress introduced herself by saying that she was hungover. When discussing the beer with the barman, he said I should go to a pub if I wanted a better choice, as they are a restaurant. It looked like a pub to me.

Pleasant pub but not a gastro-pub! Menu was rather limited disappointing in fact. Service was very average. However, when the steak arrived it was delicious and cooked perfectly.
Lacked the atmosphere one expects from a restaurant felt like being in a corridor. Furniture was not comfortable and decor was nothing to write home about.
Rather pricey for what it was. Pleasant for a quick bite, but not special enough for a special evening out.
I do not think we will be returning

Excellent! By far the best one in/around Cambridge. We've been to this place 3 times and we expect to go many more times. This place is pretty modern and very cozy, with 3 main setting section - one is more restaurant style (a bit more formal); one is casual; and the other is more pub style (small and intimate). But you can where you like.

They have some drafts beer, but nothing that you cannot find in other pubs.

Some of my favorite food: beef suet pudding. If this dish is on the menu and you like stew, you mus try it. Its made of beef stew in a dough mold (made out of 50% animal

I had heard a lot about The Plough at Coton and also read many articles so I was eager to sample what it had to offer. The Plough is just on the outskirts of Cambridge but feels like its miles away in the country it pulls off the country pub vibe well and its customers represent this. We arrived on a Sunday around 2pm at it was really busy we had to wait a while to be seated but on a sunday lunchtime you expect that. However the welcome wasnt as warm as it could have been we got the impression we were just another late annoying table. When it came to ordering our food there were already 2 dishes
