At the Clarendon Arms we pride ourselves on being one of the top-ranked restaurants in the city centre. You will be treated to the finest cuisine (including the top-rated fish and chips on Tripadvisor in Cambridge) and the warmest customer service. Arrived for lunch without a reservation and sat out in the small, covered, outside area at the rear.
The food was outstanding - it would put many a pretentious gastro-pub to shame. The menu is independent from the standard Greene King fare. Excellent, friendly service and very good value. We were greeted with a warm welcome (so were our 2 dogs and also given dog treats) Atmosphere great, staff lovely and couldn't do enough for us.

Services
Sunday daytime, we only serve our roast dinner menu from 12 till 4. We offer 2 sittings, at 12.30 and 2.30, booking is highly recommended as we fill up fast. We always have slow roast belly pork, and alternate between topside of beef and roast leg of lamb each week. Vegetarian wellington option changes weekly.

Yummy food, very accommodating for all the family's dietary requirements! Friendly staff, just a pity we had to chase them up for a refund of our booking fee? Unsual to actually take payment ahead of arrival. I thought this was to be taken if you cancel last minute or don't turn up?! Otherwise lovely evening out, thank you.

Atmosphere: friendly, welcoming, diverse and interesting people. A great place to just be.
Drink: excellent beers. Especially excited to see Tiny Rebel on tap.
Food: I didn't try, but saw some excellent dishes being served and others rated the food highly.

One of the best meals we've had in ages. We saw the reviews, realised we were staying around the corner from the pub and managed to get an early table. We ordered the tiger prawns with sourdough. They arrived hot, in a delicious and very spicy oil. The superb padron peppers topped with manchego cheese and chorizo also had a bit of heat to them. The falafel on top of the Greek salad were the best we've ever had. Usually, chefs add extra parsley to accent falafel. Here, they were loaded with extra cumin—heavenly. We visited here for dinner with our parents and ordered starters mains and a dessert. The starters were fantastic. The mains were fantastic. My burger was the best burger I’ve had in a very long time! The staff were very friendly and efficient. The owner came and said hi and humoured our parents. Very enjoyable visit!
