Services
For those wishing to do a lazy tour of Cambridge most University Colleges can be viewed from the roof garden. The stylish rooftop terrace is, of course, a famous Cambridge landmark, but the tempting knock-out cocktails, lychee or passion fruit martini's, blushing Russians, summer G and T's and many others also command a well-justified attention.
Foraged botanicals are commonplace in gins that make a statement of place. Of the massive 31 botanicals in The Botanist, a full twenty-two of them are locally foraged and they range from the quotidian (spearmint) to the hardy, weedy, and unusual in gin (yellow bedstraw). Yellow Bedstraw in a gin? This one is interesting for many reasons.
The Varsity Hotel is in the perfect location, both for the start of scenic runs, and for exploring the town more generally.
Harper's Bazaar Magazine Travel Editor, Sasha Slater, informs readers that she enjoyed a "really superb rib-eye steak with Hollandaise sauce at the hotel's Riverbar Steakhouse & Grill overlooking the Cam" before heading to "the very New York-style rooftop bar on top of the hotel" where she "had an expertly mixed Negroni while watching the sun set".

Modern seasonal menu and a firm fixture on Cambridge's social and dining scene. Located on the top floor beneath the famous Roof Terrace with stunning views of the Cambridge skyline. The restaurant and curved Carrera marble bar are vibrant and inviting designed for drinkers and diners alike. Our lunch and dinner menu offer the finest fish, meat, shellfish, and gourmet pizza all from our Wood Stone Oven and grill.
Set in the splendour of the sixth floor of The Varsity Hotel, this Cambridge restaurant with floor to ceiling windows ensures spectacular views of the historic skyline. Our Executive Chef remains faithful to the combination of finger sandwiches, deliciously warm scones with clotted cream, Jam and a selection of cakes.

Great views with good food options!!! Dined here one night to check out the place. Ordered pan seared Salmon, and mushroom risotto - both dishes came out fresh and hot, and tasted great! Ordere one Latte and one mint tea. Ironically, the restaurant submerged fresh mint in hot water and called it mint tea. Why would you do that!? Anyways, I asked them to give me peppermint tea. The server brought hot water and peppermint teabag. The whole tea fiasco was sad turn of event for a restaurant this caliber. Hence, 4 stars. Six can do a better job with tea selection since they offer afternoon tea room

Six in Varisity Hotel. One of my favourite places in Cambridge! I always invite here people visiting me. Very nice service and lovely food! 🥘🍤 restaurant has beautiful views! You can enjoy it a specially from the part looking like “covered balcony” from the 6th floor usually as well decorated with flowers. But if You walk one floor up You will find Yourself in rooftop bar with amazing panoramic views on Cambridge.

The food was incredibly bland. We ordered scallops for starters, prawn and chorizo skewers, and the roast cod, none of which seemed to be seasoned at all.
The Bellini did not look appetizing at all, but tasted good.
Lastly, the waiter mocked my boyfriend (because he asked for the dessert menu before I had finished my main course). Although that was an attempt to be respectful towards me, it seems rather unprofessional to mock a customer.

The service was extremely slow, and after waiting a very long time, we were so underwhelmed by the food. I had the salmon with giant cous cous, and the salmon was clearly over cooked, as was the cous cous. My… daughter’s garlic bread was as hard as a rock, like it had been sat under a warmer for the whole hour we had been waiting for our food. Our waitress asked if everything was OK, and I told her my honest opinion. She was very apologetic, and said she would go to tell the chef. After another long wait, we were handed our bill, on which, I was half expecting a drink to have been

I was left a little disappointed as the pre ordered Prosecco was not ready when we arrived. This was served shortly after mentioning about it to the waiter which made me double check with them if they had got my pre order for the birthday cheesecake right.
However, the prompt and efficient service coupled with good food and kind staff made up for any shortcoming’s whatsoever.

We had the best time at Six Cambridge! Honestly couldn’t fault anything, the whole experience was amazing. Marco was our waiter, he was so attentive and friendly. The food was incredible, I had the Chicken… Milanese which tasted so fresh and the tomato sauce was the best! The cocktails were also amazing. Thank you so much for such a lovely experience.

Edit 19/08/21: After now going for dinner, I can leave a full review. I think it still deserving of a 4 star review! Everything was really nice, the cocktails were fantastic, but for the price, it definitely missed the "wow" factor. Service was really good although we did feel rushed at some points
Rooftop bar was expensive but good. Service couldn't be faulted

Sixt is a classy venue for a meal or drink. There is a good menu and some excellent specialty cocktails. (It is the sort of place that you would meet someone you want to impress.)
There are wonderful views from the tables across the historic university buildings. It is the only place in Cambridge with these amazing views and vibe.
In the summer there is a roof top bar that is super special just above the restaurant.

Classy, super chic restaurant and bar whose outer walls are floor to ceiling glass. You can get a 360 view of the beautiful area in Cambridge from the adorable cottages to the fields in the surrounding areas. In the morning, the breakfast bar complimentary with the room reservation is filled with toasts, spreads, meats, cheeses, and cereals. A la carte are egg dishes, which are very reasonably priced for a hotel, think in the amount of £8-9 pounds for benedicts, Turkish eggs, and eggs in spicy tomato sauce. Full breakfasts like the English or Aussie breakfasts run a little more simply because
