Food? To expensive for what they offer. The attitude of the barman was more like why did u come here to drink and eat 🙄 . We wanted to stay next to the play area but the umbrella was broken and pointless, the sun was in our eyes(I don't know why they didn't fix it, remove it or replace it , because it was obvious it broke long time ago). The play area was dangerous for the little ones even it was meant to be for them, only the big ones could clime but the only thing was there (the slide ) it was for toddlers but poor children couldn't get on it. So I recommend a 6 drive to another pub . Unfortunately

I drive past the Blue Bowl quite regularly and always think 'I must stop by one day and try the food!' Well today was that day and it really didn't disappoint. The standard pub menu is what we have all come to expect from a good country pub but the incredible selection of burgers is a welcome surprise and super tasty. We will definitely be visiting the Blue Bowl again!

Pretty decent pub set in the countryside not too far of a drive from Bristol. In an attempt to try new pubs once a week since my move to the UK and also craving a burger (strange not too many pubs actually do burgers) we came across this place. The outside is nice and there is a decent looking garden but the inside could use a little bit of an update. Definitely not too much modernizing though as I like to have the old feel in a pub. The service was spot on even though it was getting quite busy in there, as we made a last minute reservation that afternoon we were only able to sit in the lounge

This countryside pub is south of Bristol is very much a traditional affair, with a restaurant and bed and breakfast attached. It's out of the way so you'll need a car to get there. If you're going to make the trip then its best to make a day of it - it's very convenient for a hike around Chew Valley Lake. Plus, they've got some hearty dishes perfect after a good day of walking.
There's a big pretty garden where you get a splendid view of the surrounding countryside. Add to this a decent range of beers and some cosy corners perfect for a cold winters day and you can

A country pub not far from Bristol city. You could go there for the garden alone - green and rolling and perfect for whiling away a summer afternoon. Fun for children to run about in too (without being too noisy).
The food is so local and so fresh it's practically alive on the plate. I ate the Chew Valley Lake Trout (with lemon potatoes and watercress salad) as one of their daily specials - the lake itself is not too far away at all - no food airmiles with that one. And it was delicious, not at all muddy tasting. A bit of a drive out of the city centre, but if you and a few mates/family
