The Garth Hotel, in Grantown on Spey, is the perfect place to escape to from a couple who want to explore all the Cairngorms National Park has to offer to a group to partake in shooting, fishing and bird watching, all of which we are happy to help organize for you. We are also a short walk from a very impressive 18-hole golf course!

The Garth Hotel was built in the 1850's and began its life as an Inn. Over the years, the hotel has prospered becoming the Premier Independent Hotel in Grantown-on-Spey with a bustling restaurant split over two levels with the top level giving panoramic views over the gardens and the town whilst the lower level is popular for family or party dining.

The Garth Hotel is only 15 miles from Aviemore and if you are looking for a short break or longer, we are sure you will enjoy your visit. The comfortable 18 en-suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated with some rooms enjoying a view over the Grantown-on-Spey square. We are a dog friendly hotel and there are several rooms on the ground floor specially designed for guests with limited mobility.

The Garth Hotel is located in Grantown on Spey, a small town just 10 miles from the A9 (please use the A95 from the A9) 15 miles from Aviemore where you can find the nearest train station and public transport. Inverness Airport is just 29 miles from Grantown on Spey. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel and taxi service is always available.

Ambled into the Garth, after seeking a dinner recommendation from the gal at the info centre in Grantown-On-Spey. This lovely looking gem is located at one end of the high street, and made me wish I had booked my accommodation here instead of a B&B at the opposite end of town. As I walked in, several gents who were behind me, asked if I was from the AA (I trust they meant Automobile Association and NOT Alcoholics Anonymous!!). I must have had a "no-nonsense" vibe going on .....
