We are very proud of our school which offers a caring environment where children explore a rich and diverse curriculum. Our pupils are given opportunities to develop confidence, self-esteem and a strong sense of social responsibility. We have high expectations and pupils are encouraged to achieve their potential in all areas of the curriculum. We take every opportunity to promote British values, which complement our own Childeric values.

The fundamental purpose of our school is to meet the needs of all our pupils to enable them to achieve as highly as possible in all areas of their development, in a safe, supportive environment. We want to give them high self-esteem, confidence and a desire to make a meaningful contribution to the world; to have respect for all things, including themselves, and to have a strong sense of social responsibility.
We are one of over thirty schools who are part of the John Donne School Direct partnership. The partnership offers an outstanding school-based model of teacher training where you learn on the job. Trainees complete their training year having gained a PGCE and QTS from Goldsmiths University, allowing them to teach in schools across the UK and worldwide.
At the heart of our school is a belief in the power of learning. Therefore we teach children to become powerful learners - to be focused on learning, to ask questions, to persevere, to be adaptable and to apply their learning. We believe that children learn best when they are motivated, pro-active and enjoying their learning.
At Childeric, we believe that all children, including those with special educational needs or disabilities, should have access to high quality teaching, as well as a broad and balanced curriculum. Here at Childeric, our aim is to ensure that all children are successful learners at a pace appropriate to their abilities and stage of development.
The parent governors are elected to serve the local governing body by parents of the school and normally serve for 4 years. Parent governors are pleased to hear about views and ideas and can be contacted in writing via the school office. The co-opted and community governors are invited onto the local governing body, by the governors, to add areas of expertise and to represent the local community.
