We believe that good behaviour is crucial to maintain the positive and caring ethos of the school, and our priority is to engage children in their learning, whilst helping them develop a positive attitude towards one another and the school. Our school caters for around 210 children split into seven classes.
We have fantastic facilities both internally and externally and have excellent links with our parish church. If you would also like to arrange a visit to see our facilities and speak to the Headteacher please ring the office on 01706 216407.

Services
Based upon our belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Saviour of the world, we will give all children a positive experience of Christianity and learning, whilst retaining a respect for other faiths. We will promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of all pupils within a caring, loving, stimulating and nurturing environment, which is firmly based upon Christian values.
The Governing Body of the school is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds, who are elected, nominated or co-opted and are representative of parents and teachers, the Local Education Authority and the local community. School governors work with the headteacher and are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school.
Schools are allocated a sum of money called the Pupil Premium to support children who require additional help with their work. The allocation is calculated according to the intake of the school and the children that have been in receipt of Free School Meals in the last six years or have been in care for six months or longer.
Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think about your child's school. Parents and carers can give Ofsted their views of our school at any time of the year using an online questionnaire called Parent View. Your views are really important in helping inspectors form a judgement about our school, and to help us know what is going well and what could be improved.
At St Mary's CE Primary School, we pride ourselves on making sure higher attaining pupils are provided with lots of challenge. Many people would argue that progress is the most important measure as it truly reflects the quality of teaching and learning, regardless of pupils' starting points. Progress is typically measured from Year 2 (the end of Key Stage 1) to Year 6 (the end of KS2).
