Services
At the heart of St. James' community lies a shared enthusiasm for lifelong learning, an intellectual curiosity and spirit of discovery which our dedicated teachers encourage at every stage of your child's educational journey. We are committed to helping every child discover their talents and passions and to equipping them with the skills they will need to develop those interests into an enjoyable and vibrant future.
We strive to deliver high educational standards, a superb level of care, a strong but sensible moral outlook, an understanding of the modern world and a strong sense of community values echoed by our Christian Ethos : 'Living the Fruit of The Spirit' (Galatians 5:22). Above all, we are 'Committed to Excellence' in all that we do.
There is no such thing as a neutral education. As soon as we begin to teach something to someone else, we are inevitably making value judgements about what we are teaching, how we are teaching it and why we are teaching it.

Any decision we make about what or how to teach contains within it, an implicit understanding of the human condition, of what is important in life, of the relationships we want to foster, and of what is worth learning, knowing or questioning. For this reason, character education requires learning and development to be set into context, against an understanding of what it means to be human and how the world works.
As a recently converted academy, St. James' CofE Primary School has not been inspected and therefore does not have an Ofsted report. Equally, the school does not have prior performance data. We have included the previous school's inspection report and performance data for your reference. Ofsted will use the information gathered by this tool to support their inspection of the school.
At St. James' CofE Primary School we aim to provide the children with a curriculum which is broad, well balanced and above all stimulates the children to learn. In addition to acquiring skills and knowledge we aim to help the children to grow in confidence and maturity so that they can enter secondary school, and later, adulthood with the ability to pursue wholeheartedly, academic social and cultural activities.
