On behalf of our whole school community may I offer you a very warm welcome to our wonderful school. Sacred Heart is a one form entry Catholic primary school with nursery provision, in the town of Rochdale and within the Diocese of Salford. We are very proud of our school and the commitment of the staff in ensuring that it is constantly improving as we strive for excellence together.
Our school works in close partnership with our parish particularly as the children prepare for the Sacraments. Father Simon Firth is a regular visitor to school supporting us all on our journeys of faith and our children often attend Sacred Heart Church where they are warmly welcomed by our active parish community.

Services
In Nursery Class we work very closely as a Foundation Stage with Reception Class. Across our provision we have lots of opportunities to explore, investigate and think critically about the world God has made us. Our teacher, Miss King, alongside the Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant Mrs Powell supports our learning by teaching us 'In the Moment.'
The first entitlement of all children is to be Spiritually, Morally, Socially and Culturally Educated. Children should first be educated spiritually and as a Catholic Community spiritual education is about our beliefs, our relationship with God and who we are from the scriptures. The whole of our curriculum is permeated in our beliefs and values.
The Teacher in Year 4 is Mrs Price and the Teaching Assistants are Miss Murphy and Miss Benfold. In the Autumn term, we begin the year focusing on the author Roald Dahl, enjoying some of his many famous stories; including George's Marvellous Medicine and learning songs from some of the musicals such as Matilda.
Year 6 is the final year at Sacred Heart School so it is no surprise that some of the most fantastic things happen this year. During the Autumn term, we will look at the Viking and Anglo Saxon struggle for the Kingdom of England. We will learn about Viking life, listen to music inspired by Viking myths and write Viking sagas.
