We're a family run business and have owned the Little Crown Inn for over ten years, building the business up from a traditional pub into the thriving bar, restaurant and accommodation that it is today. Our restaurant is well established and offers a mouth-watering selection of locally sourced, home cooked food, seven days a week.

Whether it's an intimate dinner for two, a sit down meal for 50 or a buffet for 100, we can cater for your needs. In 2014 we finally opened our Visit Wales graded 4* accommodation, boasting five, beautifully finished, ensuite rooms. As we are set in an area steeped in history, we have embraced our heritage and each room has been named after a local colliery.
Services
As Ian (AKA Gus) has a passion for all things to do with our Welsh mining culture and history, we have converted the corridor leading to the new toilets and accommodation into a "mine shaft"! Equipped with genuine miners' lamps, gas masks and "falling" beams the mine shaft is a bit of fun designed to give a little insight into being in a mine!
Our menus have been designed to ensure that there's something that everyone will love to eat! We cater for Vegetarians and on request we can cater for Vegans, Coeliacs and Lactose intolerance. Our food is all homemade and freshly prepared to order, so we do ask for your understanding and patience during busy services.
We can cater for any occasion, either for a sit-down meal or buffet function, and have a range of menus to suit. Our restaurant can seat 50 people, whilst we have a smaller function room that can seat 24. For buffet style functions, we can cater for up to 100 people. For more formal occasions such as Weddings, we recommend making an appointment to discuss your requirements with a member of the team.
Each of our 5 en-suite rooms has been uniquely designed to offer our guests homely comforts combined with modern amenities. With solid oak furniture and 100% cotton bedding, the rooms are luxurious, comfortable and stylish. Each room has been named after a local colliery and is decorated with pictures and stories of its namesake, creating a special and thought-provoking experience for our guests.

Traditional local pub with fascinating history of mining attached. Friendly staff. Comfortable and clean accomodation . Very interesting mock up of a mine in the middle of the bar ! Mining memorabilia everywhere. The food is hearty Welsh food . Large portions. Like great home cooking. I could not fault any of it. Consistently busy on a weekday is good testament also. The chicken and Bombay potatoes was different but really nice. The treacle pudding huge. Everything was good quality. I will be back.

Have visited several times to the bar/restaurant with friends. Now last week for me the first time since lockdown. One of a group of six, we pre booked for a lunch together. We enjoyed a very pleasant, unhurried afternoon. Food was great ( Miners Pie recommended) varied menu which also took account of dietary needs, reasonable prices.
Great one of a kind local pub!
