Since then he has found that one of the many pleasures of living in South Wales is that he is now closer and often at the source of produce that features on the Hardwick menus.
Our philosophy at the Hardwick is to be somewhere you can completely relax and enjoy some fantastic food in good company. A menu should give you a good indication to what the particular establishment you are in or thinking of visiting is trying to be and achieve, from content to wording to design. It is my shop window, it echoes my philosophy of food and is my culinary mission statement.

All we can say is Wow!! Me and my girlfriend came here for dinner on new year's eve and the food was sensational. I've eaten in a fair few Michelin star restaurants including the whitebrook, Manor House and Restaurant Gordon Ramsey and the food here blew our minds. The service was excellent, the ambience and atmosphere is cosy. Will be back for sure!!

Great quality food and service. We chose it to celebrate a special occasion and weren't disappointed. Lovely menu catering for a wide range of tastes complemented by a good drinks menu.
A lot of the food is chosen for being seasonal and local so you're guaranteed top quality.
Fantastic atmosphere and would thoroughly recommend it.

OMG! Totally bonkers prices. £31 for lamb chops, my partner and I stopped off at the which we thought was a pub on our way back from West Wales as we're starving. We had an amazing time only because we were laughing so much at the prices! Nice food but definitely not worth the prices! And they even added a 10% service charge on top. 3 stars for how the place looked, no stars for food.

Had the Salmon dish and the spaghetti dish for starters both nice and generous portions. Then let down by 2 steaks that probably should not have been served, they were so thin it was difficult to see how they were cooked, one was well done and had to go back it was hard to cut.and eat, the replacement was nice but.made us realise how bad the first two were. £32 is over the top for that quality. Shame as we had been looking forward to this. No one asked if we enjoyed our meal either.

Booked a meal & overnight stay on The Hardwick website 6 weeks prior to date. Luckily I rang morning of checking in, as they had no record of booking, even though I’d had a confirmation email from them. After waiting for some time for them to check, I had to ring back to be told they would book us into another hotel, which we declined. We didn’t want a taxi ferrying us from the alternative hotel to the Hardwick as suggested for evening meal and breakfast! They had no record of our booking despite me being sent the confirmation.

Went to the Hardwick to celebrate my step daughters 18th Birthday. Very happy to see a strict Covid-19 compliance as we were concerned as my father is in his late 70s. The staff were excellent nothing was to much trouble and were knowledgeable and happy. The food was very special we felt there was to much to chose from it left us not knowing what to order there was to much good food to chose from. It was great to see that the restaurant was using local produce. Now for the down side of the visit we felt we waited to long for the food and when it arrived the fries with the steak were not very hot

After several days' toil in the garden, in the rain, the present Mrs Dan and myself decided to reward ourselves with a trip to sunny Monmouthshire for luncheon.

Aperitifs were a Mother's Ruin for the lady and a cheeky half of Rumney Hobby Horse Bitter pour moi. A good start. We chose from the set lunch menu. At £19.50 each it's tremendous value.
Some lovely bread, butter and olive oil preceded a brace of terrific starters. Mrs A polished off a delicious smoked haddock risotto cake and poached egg whilst I devoured a sensational Carpaccio of

Taken here to eat by my Welsh relatives during a visit.
It is located in a good spot, no other properties around and a nice view of the mountains. (Ok, hills!)
My initial impression on looking at the menu posted outside was expensive for the area. Starters around £6-8 and many of the mains around £16-18.
Nice atmosphere inside and I was amazed to see it so full on a Tuesday evening. Service was friendly but slow, I later learned they were short-staffed and were unexpectedly busier than normal.
Food was excellent. I skipped the starter, although after checking with the kitchen they

Th an excellent chef and a promising location my first visit lived up to expectations, however the head waitress has now moved to the Angel Hotel nearby and the service is left to a charming young man in a dirty suit!
Not that I want to nit pick, but a lack of attention to detail can leave you feeling that you're having the wool pulled when it comes to paying the bill! Luckily the food never disappoints and everything I have eaten here has surpassed my high expectations. My great pleasure here is to choose between the many flavours of home-made ice cream! Next time you're passing through
