From the moment I was welcomed until the moment of departure, I was made to feel very welcome by Khalifa and his team. Bar and waiting staff were also very helpful and pleasant. Evening meal was huge and very reasonable. Breakfast was excellent. A great little find - ample parking and very clean, sizeable and comfortable rooms in the lodge at the back of the main building. Will definitely use again when I am up that way. Best value? - book direct with them!! Many thanks

This was our first visit after 2 years due to covid restrictions. We were recognised and greeted warmly. Our room, which had been recently refurbished, was freshly cleaned, warm and very comfortable. Our breakfasts were freshly prepared and the usual huge portion.
We had our evening meals in the restaurant and they were again very nicely cooked and presented and tasted delicious.
Everyone made our visit a pleasant one, and we are looking forward to return to The Portland again early next year.

We stayed for one night. Beautiful place, cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. Rooms were spacious and in good condition. Overall satisfied!
P.S. Due to the reason of our travel (competition) we didn't have the chance to try their bar & restaurant, something definitely not to be repeated next time we come around!

Second time we have stayed at this hotel and once again it was a pleasant experience, the staff are wonderful, always pleasant and cheerful. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Breakfast is out-standing, very generous with their portions and well prepared. A perfect place to stay!!

We have stayed at the Portland several times now and it never fails to deliver an excellent service with great food, great bar and really helpful, friendly staff. The rooms are all good and well looked after; the location at the top end of Ashington is perfect for access to the main roads and the countryside. Great value for money and highly recommended.
