There is a rich history of Education in Messingham village with the first school being built in the early 1900's. Where our current Primary School is based was built only 10 years ago to join together the separate Infant and Junior Schools. We are fortunate to have a modern building, and we are well resourced to meet the challenges faced currently with a focus to enable all of the children at Messingham to succeed.
We are a split form entry school and can accept up to 42 children in each year. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and caring school with a strong commitment to pupil achievement, serving the surrounding community, where we endeavour to enable our children to become creative confident learners.

The curriculum which we offer to all of our children is based on the requirements of the National Curriculum. The curriculum for the Foundation Stage is organised into two main areas, the prime areas and the specific areas. All subjects and areas of learning are carefully planned to give each child appropriate, memorable experiences and the opportunity to achieve his/her full potential.
At Messingham Primary School, we recognise the importance of providing a structured programme that will support the smooth transition for pupils and parents as they start Messingham School. Below, we outline the steps of this induction process. We offer each child a home visit. This visit is an opportunity to meet with the class teacher and the Early Years Practitioner on an individual basis.
At Messingham Primary School, we are committed to offering all children a high-quality education. We firmly believe that both our children and their caregivers should play an important role in any decisions made about extra support provided and external guidance sought.
To that aim, we are constantly reviewing our SEND procedures within the school so that every single child gets access to every single opportunity regardless, but in consideration of, their additional needs. To ensure we are fully-inclusive, we offer quality first teaching to all children in the classroom and our curriculum is adapted to meet the individual needs of each child.
