If you are considering having counselling and live in the area around Linton, Cambridgeshire this information could be helpful for you. My counselling practice is in Linton, a few miles from Cambridge, Saffron Walden and Haverhill. If you have never experienced counselling before here are a few points you may want to consider.
First of all counselling is not about me telling you what to do. Rather it is about having the opportunity to be heard, to be understood and to be helped to find your own way forward. I can help you, by being gently challenging, to realize that it is possible to change what is difficult in our lives by looking at our own behaviour.

Services
As well as starting a private practice I also worked as a volunteer in a specialist agency for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. My private practice encompasses short term focussed work and also longer term work for those people who wish to explore their issues more deeply. I am a member of the BACP, (the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work in accordance with their Ethical Framework.
The basic context I provide is a safe environment where you are treated with respect, empathy and total confidentiality. I will never judge or criticize you, but that does not mean that you may not feel challenged during our dialogue. My core training followed the teaching of Alfred Adler, who was a humanistic psychologist and a contemporary of Freud.
