Our vision for Ramsgate Arts Primary School grows in response to the serious erosion of the arts and creativity in schools. We provide a high-quality, broad and creative education, through which every child can experience the joy of learning and also be supported to reach his or her potential.
This is made possible through a relentless focus on high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring all children make good or better progress in reading, writing and maths. This academic rigor goes hand-in-hand with our belief that developing a love of the arts (music, art dance and drama) will enrich our children and offer them an all encompassing school experience.

At RAPS, we hold the highest expectations for the behaviour, attitude and rights of adults and children alike. Our policy, procedure and practice is developed in partnership with the whole community and is built upon respect and morality. Everyone at RAPS is clear about their rights and responsibilities and also understand the consequences of poor behaviour choices too.
We recognise just how vital the role of Governors and Trustees has become in raising standards. There is only one legal entity accountable for all schools within the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). Please contact Mr Budge, Head of School or Trust Secretary, cheryl.southern@vikingacademytrust.com, if you are interested in becoming a Local Governor.
While it only seems like moments ago that your child was moving from their nursey to start at RAPS, the next stage of their education begins formally during Year 5 when you decide whether you want your child to take the Kent Test (often referred to as the 11+). Passing the Kent Test means your child is eligible to apply for a grammar school place.
With this in mind it is our responsibility to ensure that every child in our school truly matters and reaches their full potential. Your child will be helped and encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability and their achievements will be celebrated.
Your child will learn to make choices, be responsible for his or her own actions, be polite, to be co - operative, to get along with others and to care for the environment in which we live and learn.Ramsgate Arts Primary School is a fully inclusive primary school in the county of Kent and follows the inclusive policy of all Kent schools.

We ensure our school day is structured to compliment the exciting and innovative curriculum programme we have at Ramsgate Arts Primary School. The 38 week school year is divided into 6 terms, in line with the family of schools working within the Viking Academy trust. The school day has a minimum of five hours of 'teaching time' across the key stages.
