Popped in for a bite to eat and a cup of tea. I wish I hadn't visited this place. Food was only average and the worsest was the lack of so called customer service. Servers clearly didn't want to be there and had to ask for everything several times as not interested in doing or knowing what their jobs were. I am not sure if the words please or thank you was ever uttered. What a chore the whole experience was, and so a place I won't recommend nor return back to.

Decent little cafe/restaurant, reasonably priced. Food just tastes a bit bland and average, nothing to get too excited over

Lovely full English breakfast based in upper tooting (right by Nando’s) - the beans are seasoned well and the portion size is correct! Will definitely return :)

We used to frequently visit Coffee Max around 5/6 years ago and we loved everything from the menu choices/taste of food/customer service/decor. Unfortunately our visit yesterday was a disappointment. Customer service was cold and snail pace slow! The food is mediocre nothing special, like how good it used to be. We had to speak to the waiters three times, twice we were blatantly ignored despite it being a quiet period. The atmosphere is no longer what it used to be. Real shame as it used to be really nice, vibrant and busy!

This was my first time in Tooting Broadway. Spent the night in a lovely hotel by the hospital and decided to have breakfast in this local halal cafe called Coffee Max. It was clean and well presented. They had quite a few breakfast choices, all European or British styled. English Breakfast is either served with juice or tea, I asked them not to give me sausages, but I did manage to taste the sausages at the end, they were surprisingly good quality and cooked well. My experience of this cafe is that it is excellent.

I've been here a numerous times and it's all been brilliant. Food has been amazing including large portion sizes.
Today however, the portion sizes have decreased a lot and felt the quality of the food has dropped. Maybe the chef has changed?
I also found the two girls sitting there near us were extremely rude but shouldn't influence my dissatisfaction towards my experience.

I was a regular drinker at coffee max which is fine if you drink in because if your order is incorrect then you can take it back, however beware if you order any takeaway drink the staff will only half fill your cup if you are lucky and the rest is froth, i have complained several times and the answer is we will give you a free coffee next time. How about giving me the drink i have ordered and a full cup as well after all nobody likes to be short changed.

I am not sure why this place is so highly rated.

Food is mediocre, decor is a bit weird for a coffee shop that sells Italian food, and the coffee isn't that good either. At least the food portions are big though, reflected by the size of much of the clientele the few times I've been there.

Yes I said few times; this place serves Halal food so it's a popular spot for people who otherwise would have difficulty sampling this sort of cuisine, so I've been there a few times with friends :)

Absolutely delicious food - great range, good prices, good service, great taste. Warm, friendly and everything you would want. Not surprised it already had two 5 star reviews :-)

I just love this place - I go to eat here at least once a month. Great atmosphere, superb food and quck service. It is one of the few (if not only) places where you can get quality halal italian food - normally when i go italian, i have to go for veggy options due to dietary restrictions. But at COffee Max, all options are open.

The setting is also very comfortable - very spacious and not clustered at all. Ambiance is pleasant and staff are friendly.

I would also recommend the all-day breakfast - great for a late sunday brunch, although it took 2 such helpings to fill me.

Coffee Max is more than just a coffee shop, it is more of a restaurant for a nice meal while shopping in the hustle and bustle of Tooting. The interior is clean and pleasing, but not hugely conducive to having young children there due to the tables being quite close together. There are high chairs and we have managed to eat with our kids though.

The food is Italian, with a slightly spicy edge to it. I recommend the lamb shanks, but bear in mind that it is a HUGE portion. The lasagna is delicious too. They have kids meals of pasta and freshly made pizza; tastes excellent. The waitresses are very
