Founded in Bristol 2013 by our Chief Product Officer, Jane Baldwin RVN, The Vet was born with the belief that veterinary healthcare should be made accessible to everyone. Over the past 6 years we have grown to 9 clinics across the UK with our latest clinic opening in Portsmouth 2018. We do things differently and challenge the status quo when it comes to pet health.
We believe in making a positive change to the pet health industry by offering our clients exceptional care and support, 7 days a week with fair and value pricing. Our team are available during the weekday, evenings and weekends with walk-in and appointments to suit your schedule. We know pet care is not 9-5 which is why we offer appointments 7 days of the week including late evenings to suit your schedule.

Services
We never want money to be an issue should your pet require treatment but there is also no doubt that the provision of high quality veterinary care can be costly. We hope your pet stays in good health but, ask yourself, could you afford an unexpected veterinary bill of 2000? In the absence of a Pet National Health Service, lifelong pet insurance may offer the best solution for pet owners.
In January our clinic manager, Jenna, in The Vet Nottingham went home after to work to find blood on her dog Percy's bed. Jenna is also a qualified veterinary nurse. Lolly, an eight-year-old Labrador cross breed, was brought into The Vet Bristol in early May. Her owners were concerned with her urination patterns and from finding blood in her.
You can register your pet with our veterinary team by completing our online registration form. We will contact your existing veterinary practice for permission to transfer your pet's details, so when you come in to see us we'll have your pet's history to hand. Or you can register when you visit us for the first time.
It's very collaborative here and every member of the team has a say in the models and services delivered. We invest to help people with ideas to progress - there's so much potential and we embrace this opportunity. I always wanted to have responsibility for delivering every aspect of an animal's care and here I can do this.

This vets used to be reasonably priced, its gone so expensive, my dog had bloods done and a couple of other tests and it cost over 300 pounds, a friend got exactly same tests for her dog in St Helens and it cost her 120! I'm not taking my dog here no more, the prices are scandalous ..I don't even think my dog needed all the tests, I feel I've been ripped off.

Absolutely awful vet. If you value your pet avoid this place! Staff are rude and condescending on the phone and they don't even do the things you ask for. I would give no stars if I could. Terrible people, they don't care about your pet, only your wallet! They don't deserve to work with animals at all.

Be warned, vets suggest unnecessary extras just to get more money! Also I brought them a cat 3 times with a paw fungus and they just continued to prescribe antibiotics which improved the situation initially but then the problem kept getting worse. One of the vets on the second visit had indicated specific tests to do but customer support never allowed me to do them. They kept wanting me to book visits with vets who changed each time and continued to prescribe generic antibiotics without really digging deeper. I am really angry about the lack of professionalism and education in the ways of responding

Wouldn’t recommend this vet to anybody!
I have been coming here for the past 9 years and had no problems until last year. In 2020 my dog had 3 tumours in her mammary glands from phantom pregnancies. We booked her in for the surgery and the day she got discharged I noticed that they only removed 2 out of 3 tumours so I flagged this up at the post-op appointment to be told of it changes or grows to come back straight away.
All was good until I took her back 31st March 2021 as the lump had grown. The female vet that I seen said not only had the lump grew from last year but there was a second lump

Having an appointment I have been waiting for more than half of hour for a rabies vaccine for my cat. I am still here , waiting, while I am writing this review. I can't say anything about services cause I didn't have a chance to come in yet. But I will look for another vet in the future. I might leave anyway. Too much waiting. 40 minutes by now!
Follow up: I've been waiting for 1h in the end. The doctor was nice and professional and explained me that the rabies vaccine is not mandatory in the UK. Unless you need to travel abroad with your pet.
Though I can't help appreciating the prompt booking

My mother in law has had nothing but help off the vet here. And I went along to have her dog looked at. And it was decided to put him to sleep. They were so caring and patient. They let me spend time with him before the end and were very compassionate towards me, my mother in law, and came out to explain everything to my family. They treated our dog, Dixie so well, and genuinely cared about him.
I would recommend them to anyone
