In addition, our other branch, Irby Veterinary Surgery, has retained its RCVS Small Animal GP accredited practice level.
Services
Irby Vets is a growing small animal practice, located in the heart of Irby village on the Wirral. We are an independent, privately-owned practice that aims to provide an excellent standard of veterinary care in a relaxed and friendly environment. Our dedicated, professional team offers state-of-the-art medicine and compassionate care to all the animals we see.
Our premises are located in the centre of Irby, and offer a wide range of facilities to provide a high level of care for your pets. We believe that preventative treatment should be a large part of caring for pets; we are able to provide a wide range of advice and treatments for your pets in the hope that this will help to protect them against future problems.
Our up-to-date surgery offers a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities to ensure the highest possible level of care for your pet. Our up-to-date diagnostic equipment including digital x-ray, ultrasound and ECG means that we can carry out involved investigations on site and advanced surgical procedures where necessary.
Home visits are available if you are unable to bring your pet into the surgery. It is generally best for you to bring your pet into the practice as we have all our equipment and medicines immediately available to hand. We are very sympathetic to owners' wishes to have their pet put to sleep in their own home.
If your pet needs emergency treatment outside our normal business hours, please call 0151 648 9933 and our recorded message will give you the relevant number to contact our Out of Hours veterinary team. Please note payment will be expected at the time of treatment and there is no facility for credit.

So friendly and caring. Wouldn't take my cats anywhere else. Take the time to talk to you and answer any questions you have. Very tactful when explaining my little boy kitten was in fact a girl 🤣

Very friendly staff, major covid rules in place ie. Interview about pet done by phone first, then pet handed in, then wait in car, then pet collected. Kitten had vaccine and flea worm treatment package.

Saved my dogs life more than once once. One rime my children left 2 easter eggs out and my dog got them bit luckily the well trained surgeons saved my dog. The other Tim he had two swelling points on his neck they were the same size as tennis balls and he was struggling to breath. Though they couldn't work out the cause they managed to get my do medication and he was back to full health. They have lily helping staff and have dog food poo bags and other supplies in case you are in an emergency

Clean, efficient and professional surgery. Dog very happy to visit. Rob Forrester and his staff are doing a good job for which I'm grateful. I'd appreciate being offered an itemised invoice without having to ask and sometimes the phone is not answered as promptly as it might (thus 4/5 stars) but these are minor quibbles.

All the staff at Irby Vets provided exceptional care to our seriously ill dog for 3 days. They undoubtedly saved his life.
We were kept up to date each step of the way of his progression and given options which were fully explained to us so we were able to make decisions without any guess work. We were also updated each day on the mounting bills which is obviously very important.
We were allowed to visit our boy everyday and not once were we made to feel unwelcome or in the way even though they're a fairly busy surgery. Each member of staff from the receptionists to the vets were very personable

My disability means that I now must look for a mobile vet. (when taxi drivers now refuse to take my beloved pet Berlioz due to his size and being unable to place upon the seat) I had been with Irby vets for 14 months I must say, the veterinary nurse Laura Campbell is the most amazing caring competent nurse and animal professional it has ever been my privilege to meet. If you want a veterinary nurse with a difference and the support of a family owned business this is for you. Laura you are truly special
