Periodontal disease is one of the most common forms of dental disease seen in dogs and cats. It begins with deposits of plaque forming on the surface of the tooth and these deposits then mineralize forming Tartar (also known as Calculus). Tartar is a hard, brown/yellow substance that pushes up against the surface of the gum, over time the gums recede and in extreme cases the tooth root becomes exposed and teeth can be lost.
You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines Veterinary (POM-Vs) from us or ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or pharmacy. A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or if immediate treatment is necessary. You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed for your animal.

Love this independent book shop and supported it throughout my children's education. At one point their coffee shop was franchised but since re-opening after Covid, they are running it themselves. Lovely cappuccino and toasted tea cake, and no fuss when we requested more butter. Definitely worth visiting.

Very helpful and friendly. Phoned up at 6pm on a week day with an ill gerbil, and I was in with the vets by 6:15pm. She was very good with the gerbil and gentle. Happy to say my gerbil is doing much better now. Thank you Churchview! All of the staff were professional and friendly. I'd definitely recommend.

Such a dedicated talented team, I have been coming here for a few years now and I have to say after going to other vets previously I am very impressed with the high standard of care we get here every time, very highly trained, high standard of care and compassion for the animals and supportive of the owners too. I'm so glad I found the best vets in town.
