We have been here for the last 4 weekends to meet Dad. He lives at Southerness so initially it was to save him as he informally drives to us, but its a real gem! So warm and welcoming. The food is outstanding. We have ordered from the special board every time and it is fantastic quality! Keep it up!

You're sure of a warm and friendly welcome in our newly refurbished dining room, which accommodates up to fifty people. Our affordable meals can also be enjoyed in our snug lounge area, family areas or even outside in our beer garden on a nice day. We have an excellent choice of snacks within the lunch and evening menus, complimented by the chef's daily specials.
Our guest accommodation is situated at the rear of the hotel. The guest accommodation is in the form of six chalets. We provide double and twin rooms, all equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, Freeview television and free car parking. The rates available are: room only, B+B or DB+B. We provide reduced rates for guests staying 3 nights or more.
Our sister public house is the 19th Hole, which is situated 50 yards from the hotel. The 19th Hole is the place to be in the summer months, offering live entertainment most nights, including karaoke, race nights, quiz nights, and pool competitions (you must see our hexagon shaped pool table!). The 19th Hole is a great family-friendly, modern bar, with an excellent beer garden and parking facilities.
There's plenty to discover in Dumfries and Galloway. Whether you're here to take on the golf courses, blaze across a challenging path on your mountain bike, or for some family fun, you're sure to find something that will make you visit memorable and special! There are several excellent golf courses in and around Dumfries, but out pick is the Southerness Golf Club, which is situated right here in the village.

We found the Paul Jones via Happy Cow and very impressed with the generous vegan options.
Portions are generous and the prices more than reasonable. We did visit a few times over the week and tried most of the menu. Everything is very tasty and the kids especially enjoyed the wonderful desserts.
The only things that could improve the experience is the option of veggie chips, brown rice and not so spicy options for the kids, please.
We will definitely be back.

We didn't stop here at the Hotel but we did stop for the Food, We got a Good Warm welcome here of the Staff was really happy to be here, the Food was lovely hot And the desserts are unbelievable. food was delivered to us in a good time. was even happy to come back again for the 2nd time and still the Great warm welcome service was happy to Tip them as well. only 2 min walk to the beach

Dropped in for a bar meal while visiting the area and glad we did. Had breaded chicken breast strips with chips in a basket. Really filling, tasty and well priced. In fact we called back again at the end of the week for the same meal.
On the 2nd visit we were placed into the family room which was unfortunately a little too noisy for us. Not because of children but adults shouting across their table.
Staff were very pleasant, helpful and quick to serve.

A warm friendly atmosphere. . Reasonably priced drinks and food..... The food looked really nice and I overheard complimentary comments.... So I have booked a table for our family (booking advised)... There wasn't the local ale on tap as usual but I was offered a bottle of the ale instead... Very nice it was too... I hope it will be available on draught when we return.. 😀

We have enjoyed some amazing vegan food today including the wonderful chick pea curry and vegan chocolate fudge cake with ice cream.
The staff are super friendly and helpful.
We would love to see vegan ranges for children including vegan pizza, pasta with vegan cheese.
