We look forward to being able to warmly welcome you into our school and proudly show you around. Welcome to St Mary's Church of England Primary School website. At our school, within a secure and caring Christian environment, we strive to develop the potential of each pupil in partnership with parents, staff and governors.
For more than a century, St Mary's Primary School has served generations of families in Chessington. The school today retains its close connections with the local church and community, while also welcoming children from further afield. We currently have 7 classes and a pre-school morning Nursery, the school is small enough to retain a family atmosphere, but large enough to offer full challenge and opportunity to all children.

It seeks to be a statement of the schools aims. To reveal the distinctive character, attitude and spirit of our school - the nature of its heart and soul. Most importantly of all it is to be seen in the everyday life of the school. Lived out in the relationships that are formed, the conversations that happen, the activities that take place and in the choices that the children and staff make.
At St Mary's, we are committed to child protection, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils. Our policy applies to all staff, governors and volunteers working in the school and we expect all staff members, employed, commissioned or contracted to work with pupils together with volunteers and governors to adhere to it.
We have a maximum of 26 part time (morning only) spaces in our nursery class. Our staff are knowledgeable and experienced and we pride ourselves on our warm, caring, child centred ethos. We offer 15 hours per week (3 hours every morning) of fully funded nursery education to all children in the term following their 3rd birthday.
Our school meals are provided by Caterlink and are freshly prepared each day in our school kitchen. Please ensure that if you intend for your child to eat a school lunch, booking is made via ParentPay. Pupils in Reception, Year one and Year two are able to have a free hot meal at lunchtime funded by the 'Universal Infant Free School Meals' initiative.
