Ivybridge Primary School
We are a friendly and diverse primary school serving our local community; with just 1 or 2 classes in each year group members of staff are able to know all pupils as individuals. If you would like to come and visit our school please contact the school office on 020 8891 2727 to arrange a suitable time, during a typical school day.

We will make sure that someone is available to show you around the school and answer any questions you may have. You will be able to see the school in action and speak with school staff. If there is something specific you would like to discuss during your visit, for example if your child has SEND then please let us know and we will arrange for the relevant staff to be available.
Services
Ivybridge parents are also given termly planners outlining the learning opportunities provided in each year group every term. At Ivybridge all children have the opportunity to develop their understanding of their place in the world and as a school, we promote their curiosity and fascination to become active learners with a passion for history.
Our purpose is to provide quality education for young people, and to achieve excellence in all that we do, within a happy, caring and safe environment. Our school nurtures curiosity and creativity through an engaging, balanced and broad curriculum. Our children learn to become resilient and self-assured in a stimulating and secure environment.
We are a friendly and diverse primary school serving our local community; with just 1 or 2 classes in each year group members of staff are able to know all pupils as individuals. A priority for everyone at the school is to provide a safe and caring environment in which all of our pupils can develop a lifelong love of learning.
Parents may place their child's name on our Nursery waiting list at any time before this. They will be contacted by the school about six months before their child is due to start. A programme of meetings and visits is organised to ensure that children and their parents are familiar with the school before they start.
School Governors are members of a school's Governing Body; they have responsibility for raising school standards through their three key roles of setting strategic direction, ensuring accountability and acting as a critical friend. Whether appointed or elected each governor has a term of office, which is a maximum of four years before they have to seek re-election/re-appointment.

If you are a member of the Somalian community I believe you will like this school alot as the school is made up predominantly of Somalis. In a ideal world I would prefer a more mixed school. The school is set on a tower block estate though which has a large Somali community so I guess it’s to be expected. Large class sizes (33/34) But won’t go over 35 apparently....
Several teachers throughout the week along with various TA’s not 1 teacher & a TA as you might expect for this age range. The headteacher is nice & will listen to any concerns etc you have as are some of the teachers and TA’s

I can't speak from experience about the school, however I called up to arrange a viewing for the school and I have never been spoken to so rudely in my life! I was given one date option to view the school, a date I could not make, and I asked if there was anything that could be done and the lady I spoke to became very rude and hung up on me! This is not a good impression to give and I will not be applying for my child to attend this school, which gets very mixed reviews anyway.
