The Theory Test must be Passed before the Practical Test can be taken. The Theory Test is the same for Automatic Cars or Manual Cars even if you Learn to Drive in an Automatic car or you choose a Manual Driving Instructor. Once you have Passed it, you will get a Certificate which is valid for 2 years, were within those two years you will try to pass your practical test.
You will have an hour's lesson before your Driving Test, this will give a good 'warm up' to practice your driving and manoeuvres. You will then go to the Test Centre with your Driving Instructor and wait in the waiting room. There will probably be other people waiting at the same time as you. At the appropriate time the examiners will come into the waiting room.

Robert helped me to pass first time, good with communicating and patience plus he was always happy to spend more time on area's I found more difficult. Lessons were always varied covering different skills for experience/exposure to different scenarios each time. I will be booking my Pass Plus session with him asap. Highly recommended.

Robert is a very patient instructor. I can confidently say the way he teaches would equip one to drive on any road and manage any situation. I was really worried about manoeuvres and he taught quite easy techniques to learn them. The lessons could have had more structure but hey ho - it worked brilliantly and I passed my test in the first attempt.
After I passed my test, I also had a motorway lesson with him recently and it was excellent as always. Thank you Robert!

Robert was a great driving instructor and I passed first time with him. I had never driven a car before or had lessons with anyone before having lessons with Robert but I'm very glad I came across Anglia Driving School. Robert was very friendly, reliable and very patient. He explained everything very well throughout my learning and I would I would very much recommend Anglia Driving School.

I had half a dozen refresher lessons with Robbie after not driving for many years. He is very calm and controlled in his teaching, and gave me a lot of confidence with my driving. He was very effective at pointing out areas for improvement whilst not dwelling on errors. And, most importantly, he is a really nice guy and we had a lot of fun conversations whilst learning!

Rob was a fantastic driving instructor and helped me pass first time. He explains everything in a step by step basis which makes it easier to learn. He explained a technique on how to parallel park in a very easy way and also bay parking. He was a calm driving instructor, and if you would do something wrong he would ask you to pull to one side and calmly explain what was wrong and help fix that problem. Overall, I definitely recommend Rob.

I passed my test first time in less than 6 months after only 15 lessons with Robert (an hour each), so I was very pleased to save money I may have needed to spend on more lessons with a different instructor. When I wanted to move the lessons to be in my new car, Robert was very flexible to do that which allowed me to get used to driving the car I would be using after I passed my test. He is very good at explaining manoeuvres and used short, clear reminders to help me whenever I was about to make a mistake. Robert was also very flexible with the times of my lessons which was very helpful.
