The Whitecraigs Golf Club
We are a forward thinking, family golf club, that offers our members and visitors a truly amazing golfing experience. We believe in continuously seeking opportunities to further enhance our fantastic golf course, clubhouse facilities and customer experience. We are dedicated to growing the game of golf for all people of all abilities, and we also take great pride in being able to offer all members a sense of belonging.

For lunches and dinners, or perhaps just a light snack before your round, we can cater for all tastes. Larry and his team specialise in good food and friendly service, and our bar and dining room menus offer a wide range of starters and main courses. We can also cater for special occasions such as a birthday or anniversary.
Services
Established in 1905 in the Giffnock suburb of Glasgow, Whitecraigs is a classic parkland course which has a rich history stretching back over 100 years. The greatest golfing events in the club's history are unquestionably the visits of the Ryder Cup teams of 1929 and 1933. The club was also honoured with the visit of the 'Golden Bear' Jack Nicklaus in 1983.
As Par 3 Associates we could play twelve rounds on the Big Course. In 'Turn Up & Play' sessions experienced players explained etiquette (and diplomatically) how to improve our game!. Whitecraigs has a large Ladies Section, healthy competition numbers, a cross-section of ages from Junior to Senior and a 'Get into Golf' scheme to facilitate membership growth.
Visitors and golf societies are welcome to play at Whitecraigs by prior arrangement with the Club Managing Secretary or Professional. The clubhouse offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. On two levels, the downstairs area has a large dining room that can seat 100 people.

The main lounge has recently been refurbished to a high standard and features a large flat screen TV with Sports channels, and provides access to the roof terrace which overlooks the 18th green. The Ladies and Gents locker rooms have both been fully upgraded and offer first class lockers, showers and changing area.
David Orr is the Club Professional based at The Whitecraigs Golf Club and brings with him a wealth of relevant knowledge and experience. He aims to offer everyone- members and visitors alike, the best possible golfing experience. David began playing golf aged 4 and during his junior days he represented Scotland internationally at both Boys and Youth Level.

Pretty impressive display of modern attitude today at the club. Just wanted to check out the venue for a possible fixture for our society and grab a coffee at the same time. Got told to go away as not with a member. Couldn’t even be bothered to come to the door in person!

This course was very good nice long holes short ones. Greens and tees were exceptional for all this dry weather we have had. This was the first time I have played this course and would love to come back. Keep up the good work.

This is more of an outsiders review of the club itself rather than the course as I have been here twice recently for business meetings.
This is a truly charming and impressive building with history and stories to tell everywhere you look.
Thankfully it has not been overly "modernised" and is all the better for retaining that wear.
The food is outstanding, be it a simple snack or a proper meal. Rest assured, if your round does not go as you would hope, your meal afterwards will ease the pain.
The course itself looks spectacular (the views from the upstairs rooms are sublime) to this inexperienced

Beautiful golf course at the heart of Newton Mearns.
Played early morning in the middle of summer with my FIL. The staffs & club members are so friendly. Special mentioned to David Orr, Professional who run the Pro shop. His hospitality is second to none.
The course itself is in immaculate condition, such a shame my scores wasn't :)
It is not a long course (having said that, we used a buggy!)
I would highly recommend this course, if you have the chance.

Great course. Good tough layout with lots of blind tee shots. Bunkers were terrible though. Members need to learn to not rake all the sand to the edges of the hazard leaving no sand in the middle. Almost impossible to splash out of.

Played the course last week. Winter greens on and pretty cold. But good to get out and playing again. Facilities very good, with great showers. Stayed for something to eat which was delicious and staff very helpful. Would recommend for a round.
