We visited as a joint birthday treat and have to say that it absolutely lived up to the expectations that we both had, not cheap by any stretch of but absolutely fantastic. The meal was stunning, we had the a la carte menu which was complemented beautifully by the extras that were provided. The bread that was bought out was amazing - you could have done with that on every course to mop up all the fantastic sauces. The only good that we felt was not up to the level of the rest was the mince pie beignet served at the end of the meal. We both felt that this was a little doughy, with the mincemeat

We had an absolutely fantastic meal here last night. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food was wonderful. We had some lovely wines picked for us by the sommelier which paired beautifully with each course. The building itself is beautiful too. Highly recommend if you are wanting a special treat. We will definitely be back!

All round one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time; at least 4 of the tasting menu courses were truly exceptional but the raw Orkney scallop was the stand out dish for us and one that I’ll remember for a very long time. Also highly recommend the wine pairing which was of a very high quality with generous pours.

Absolutely fantastic experience. The setting is beautiful. The food was absolutely perfectly cooked, presented and the menu very balanced. The service was impeccable and Alex had an extremely impressive ability to remember every detail of every element of every dish he served. Couldn't fault a thing.

My wife and I had a superb meal here at the end of October. The food was delicious (certainly warrants its Michelin star), there was a nice, relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive. It felt very Covid secure, too. Would definitely go if in the area and looking for a special meal out!

It looks like all the other reviews of the Fordwich Arms are from several years ago, before the new management took over. What seems to have been a lovely local pub is now a Michelin-starred pub and restaurant, and having now eaten here twice, I can honestly say it's one of the best places I have ever been.
Fordwich is a beautiful little town on the wildflower-strewn banks of the river Stour. The Arms is a handsome and imposing old pub with a pleasant main bar, a wood-panelled dining room, a vine-canopied terrace by the river, and a charming beer garden. For our second visit, we sit on the

Went in here two weeks ago, on a Monday night. Me and my two friends were the only ones dining (another couple just leaving as we arrived). We all had a lovely meal and opted to eat in the dining room rather than the bar, just so that we could chat really. I had the best lasagne that I have had for a long time followed by a very rich, and yummy, homemade cheesecake. Bottle of house white a very enjoyale evening. Also the staff were nice and friendly without being pushy. Definitely come back again.
