We're still open in Canterbury, selling seasonal and local veg, meat and fish as well as store cupboard essentials. Our fantastic sellers, from Enzo's Bakery to Cheesemakers of Canterbury, are open - and we have added their products to our online shop! We deliver to most of east Kent CT1-21, TN23-25 and ME13 on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and our Click & Collect is now only on these days, too.
Deliveries will arrive between 12pm and 6pm. I bought fresh stocks from Badlesmere, some traditionally reared pork chops, local mackerel, bread pulled straight from the oven and vegetables collected that morning from Kentish farms. I sat and had a fine sandwich from Jonnie Sandwich with a glass of wine from Clive and pondered Sunday lunch.

Services
We welcome you to book a table inside our open, naturally-lit restaurant overlooking the market, or in our rambling garden - though please note, these bookings are not interchangeable in the event of poor weather and if you have booked outside, we may not be able to move you inside, which means your reservation will be cancelled.
Welcome to our great big collection of everything Kentish and the best of the rest, ready to be delivered from farm, to market, to your doorstep in no time. Over 20 years, we have built up our network of farmers and producers, as well as our team of artisan suppliers on the ground in the market hall.
Our local night shelter and kitchen for the homeless - Catching Lives - is opening this week. They cook from scratch every night. You can donate 5 and we'll match it, meaning we can deliver a good amount fresh veg and meat every day. A nutrient-packed, tasty mixture of soil grown sprouting seeds - selection changes with the season.
A light, fruity Chardonnay in the Burgundian style with a perfect balance of concentration, acidity and minerality. Refreshing and quaffable but with enough weight to partner fish and chicken dishes. A beautifully balanced example of white Rioja that straddles the styles of the old and the new. Vibrant citrussy Viura is blended with the more weighty Malvasia and the brief barrel maturation adds a honeyed roundness to the crisp lemony fruit.
The Goods Shed opened in 2002 as a daily farmers market with onsite restaurant using the local market produce. Its continuing success (your support) along with other home grown outlets has contributed to supermarkets stocking more British produce. The 'food hall' reaches further afield to stock a fuller, more complete shop.

Very much enjoyed our evening here. The food was very nice, service professional and friendly, and the wines were decent and well-chosen (albeit perhaps a tad highly priced). Nice ambiance, too (much better than we'd expected), The only downside was that my clothes had cooking smells embedded in them the next morning, which was probably because we were seated at the table next to the open kitchen. Mental note: ask for a table at the other end next time.

We made our first visit this week after hearing a recommendation about local cheeses. It was a very busy under cover area with food and drink stalls, including a lovely fresh fish counter.
Lots of good things on offer, lots of people eating and drinking with a good atmosphere.
A bit pricey but buying local with items you cant get at the supermarket. Glad to see there is parking right outside so popping in made easy.

I am so glad to find this place, the market hall setting is amazing in candle light, even though it was December it felt special and cosy, blankets are provided. The service was incredible, all of the staff are so welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. The food was fantastic and I think the prices are fair. Will definitely recommend to others and return regularly! Thank you

A fantastic meal. All the food was delicious. Portion sizes spot on. The service we received, both in advance while detailing our requirements, and on the day itself was brilliant. We were a demanding crowd with an age range of 1 to 70 something, and nothing seemed too much for us.. thank you team Goods Shed for kicking off our festive season.

Great and Independents Mini Shops...!
Beautiful and fresh vegetables 🍎🍇🍊🥕🥔🍅🥦
The superb quality of meat and fish. The fish and seafood 🦐🦀 were surprisingly fresh!!
Amazing choice of wines🍾 and cheeses 🧀
European deli.
Fantastic Oliver oils.
If you feel hungry😋 there's a restaurant and café inside the market.
I would shop regularly in The Goods Shed if I was living in the area!!
I love the people from Canterbury, they are amazingly friendly, helpful and polite🤗

Been wanting to come here for a while & so glad we did. It doesn't have an extensive menu, which wasn't a negative, as the food we ordered as bursting with flavour & texture. Beautifully presented, great service, awesome setting. And there is a quality foid market, cafe inside, all locally sourced produce, which tge restaurant utilizes for its ingredients. Visit. Its worth it.

Great place to dine and support local produce.
Bustling farmer maker with some true delights to be found.
Wasn't to keen on the beefburgers from the butchers, tasted a bit floral for my liking.
Had a delicious 3 course lunch in the restaurant and found the food fresh with plenty of flavour, also well presented and fairly priced.
Had the lamb leg which was amazing and a delight asparagus side dish.
Good Selection of drinks but unfortunately they sold out of the bottle lagers! Still the jug of wine we chose was excellent.
However we did find our desserts a little over sugared.
Staff polite
