Services
This week has been all about getting used to the systems in Year 4, we have spent our English lessons working through the different activities we will be doing in guided reading. We have also completed a reading summary as a class based on the story of 'The Black Hat' and then written our own based on our reading book.
We are so excited to be starting the new school year and welcoming your child as they begin their journey at Helsby Hillside Primary School. We have lots of fun things to look forward to this year. Learning new skills is so important in Reception and we do a lot of our learning through play! In Reception, the children can follow their own interests, topics are often catered to what the children like!
I would like to welcome you and your lovely children to year 2. The children arrived this week looking smart, happy and ready to learn. They have settled well into life in Year 2, following class rules and routines. We have spent the first two days getting to know each other and getting to grips with class rules and routines.
The children have been busy learning about place value. We have also been improving our mental maths skills by carrying out the four operations daily. To get super speedy we have been practising addition facts to 25 and times tables facts. There is a 'My Happy Mind' diary and a 'Positivity Colouring pack' under 'files to download' to support your child with their mental well being should your child wish to complete any of the activities.
It's all new for me! I'm very pleased to be here at Helsby Hillside and to be working in Year 6. I've really enjoyed the first two days back in class as it seems to be back to 'normal'. In year 6 we have spent the first two days getting set for the rest of the year with equipment, routines, rules and learning of names!
