St Oswald's Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided Primary School
The Nursery children were fantastic in their graduation this morning. After their graduation ceremony they were visited by Magic Andrew with his amazing magic show. The KS2 children and staff enjoyed their sports day this afternoon. There were so many fantastic athletes, including Mr Dey, Mr Gribbin and Mrs Morris who took part in the staff race.

We have uploaded some videos to FFI for you to watch. Well done everyone! We celebrated the achievements of the children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 in a wonderful end of year Gold Book Assembly. We pride ourselves on our excellent relationships with children, staff, parents, carers and governors.

Our children will gain knowledge and understanding of Britain's past and that of the wider world. Key Stage 1 will be taught about changes within and beyond living memory, the lives of significant people, as well as significant events locally. In Key Stage 2, a lot of the topics taught are based around times in history such as the Romans, the Iron Age and the Vikings.
Making everyone associated with the school feel valued through the living and sharing of Gospel values within our Catholic community. Being mutually supportive and respectful to each other in order to achieve harmony, well being and Christian love. Developing self esteem, a positive self image, pride in their achievements and enabling them to reach their maximum potential, physically, academically, mentally and spiritually.

The Pupil Premium is allocated to pupils who are known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), Service pupils and pupils who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. This will also include pupils eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure).
The government is currently providing additional funding of 150 million each year to improve provision of physical education and sport in primary schools. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on the delivery of PE and sport in school. Schools must spend additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.

I transferred my 2 Children into this school from a different school and they have both thrived. The staff always go well over what their job entails and actually care about the children, the school and it's rounds are always clean and well looked after and thinking about it, I can't say a bad thing about the school. I am astounded someone gave the school 1 star, if it were such a bad school then there would be a lot less children, happy children I must add, attending the school like other schools within the same catchment area.
