Summerville Primary School
We are proud of our vibrant, diverse and friendly school where children enjoy the exciting range of opportunities and make excellent progress. We are strongly committed to developing all children academically, emotionally and socially. Our expectations are high, both in learning and behaviour. I am passionate about enabling all children in our local communities to have the very best possible educational opportunities.

The curriculum we provide at Summerville is tailor made to give all children a thirst for learning, a motivated engagement in school and the best chance of academic success. There is a strong emphasis on developing confidence and skills to be excellent communicators in all situations. The school has a strong sense of community, with nurture and strong relationships at its core.
Services
Whilst we know this is not the ideal situation for anyone, we are committed to helping you support your child with their learning as much as we possibly can. The teachers will provide remote learning everyday for your child. Each day children will receive maths, reading, writing, spelling/phonics and PE activities to complete.
At Summerville Primary School we believe that children should be happy, challenged and secure. We aim to inspire our children to become confident independent learners who can achieve their full potential; as we believe learning should be fun, purposeful and challenging. We aim to equip each child with the skills needed for lifelong learning through interesting and memorable learning opportunities each day.
Where a school receives more applications than places available, the following oversubscription criteria will be applied once places have first been allocated to children who have a statement of special education need or an Education, Health and Care Plan which names the school.

1. Looked After children and previously looked after children This includes children who have ceased to be looked after because they were adopted or became subject to a special residency/child arrangements order or special guardianship order.
The Early Year's curriculum follows the guidance provided by the DfES for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Three characteristics of learning are also fostered to enable the best development in every child. In Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 we follow the National Curriculum. We focus on English and mathematics as the foundations for all learning and these lessons are taught every day.
Summerville Primary School recognises the definition of Special Educational needs described in the Special Needs Code of Practice 2014. A child has special educational needs if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision made for them. Have significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of others of the same age; or.
