I am proud to be the Headteacher of this wonderful school which is the heartbeat of our local community. Beech Street is a one-form entry primary school offering provision from Nursery to Year 6 and has around 250 children on role. Beech Street is a warm, friendly school which strives to help all of our families develop a deep love of learning.

We recognise that all our children are unique and we aim to nurture their individual talents and celebrate their efforts and achievements. The children of Beech Street are happy to attend our school. They feel safe, secure and enjoy learning with the adults who support their journey. There is an exciting and energetic atmosphere in our lively school - it is a place full of positivity and opportunity.
Services
At Beech Street, our aim is to provide a high-quality history education that will help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of local history, Britain's history and that of the wider world. Our history curriculum will inspire pupils' curiosity to know more about the past. It will provide them with the desire and opportunities to ask perceptive questions, think critically, scrutinise evidence and develop perspective and judgement.
The Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS) is a progressive learning programme for young people which has been designed to recognise the wider achievement of our children and help build character. The objectives of the JASS programme are aligned with the wider learning objectives of the Curriculum for Excellence, The Outdoor Challenge, and the National Curriculum.
At Beech Street we aim to offer a curriculum which suits the unique needs of our children and families. We focus firstly on ensuring our curriculum is both engaging and relevant to the lives of our children. We aim to instil our School Values of: Tolerance, Respect, Ambition, Courage and Kindness throughout everything we do.
Hi, I'm Miss Orr and I am the English Lead at Beech Street. Welcome to the writing page. Here you will find lots of information about what we do at school to develop a love of writing in our children. You'll also find our scheme of work, writing policy and some links to websites that you might find useful.
I'm Miss Orr, the English Lead at Beech Street. Here you'll find everything you need to know about reading at our school and how we value every child becoming a reader. You'll also find links to some great websites and ways to help your child at home. Pupils should be taught to read fluently, understand extended prose and be encouraged to read for pleasure.
