OFSTED 2020'Children in the early years are enticed to learn many new things by skilled staff. We are incredibly proud of our children and our community and hope that this is demonstrated by the wide range of activities shown in our 'Life at The Friars' page. Our children are the heart of this school and we put their needs first in all instances.
We provide them with a rich and varied curriculum, wonderful learning and enrichment opportunities outside of the classroom and a safe, nurturing space. Vision Statement - The Friars Primary School will take children forward into the future by promoting high levels of achievement, respecting and meeting their unique academic, social and emotional needs so all children are prepared for the next stage of their education and life in modern Britain.

Under Section 78 of the Education Act (2002) schools are required, as part of a broad and balanced curriculum, to promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils or SMSC development. At The Friars Primary School, our SMSC provision is based on Department for Education (2014) guidance: Promoting fundamental British values as part of SMSC in schools: Departmental advice for maintained schools.
The School Data Dashboard provides a snapshot of school performance at Key Stages 1, 2 and 4. The dashboard can be used by school governors and by members of the public to check the performance of the school in which they are interested. Here is a summary of the results for our school based on children who sat the tests and were not disapplied, due to not having been in the country for the significant amount of time.

I was passing by The Friars Primary School on 14/03/16 around 2.30 pm and there were children with a teacher outside the school in the pitch. What I saw was quite terrifying and worrying: children were sitting on the COLD CONCRETE GROUND (it's WINTER !!!) and teacher was sitting on the bench nice and warm!!! I don't know what health and safety rules are placed in this school because these children will soon develop some serious bladder/kidney illness if the teacher will keep sitting them on the COLD GROUND in winter! It's not the first time I saw it while passing near that school. In my opinion
